Jan 2018: Pay attention to the reviews!! This apartment complex is trash with a little dinky leasing office that is tiny. There is much better apartments in Wilmington for cheaper as well. Just look around. The parking lots, apartments, and just general staff are not well trained or well taken care of. Also if you plan on having guests, if they don’t park in a visitors parking space they will be towed for $125! Like I said earlier the parking lots are poorly maintained so the “Visitor†marking are barely visible (probably warrants illegally towing). These parking spaces are also randomly placed to make you think one is “Vistiors†and it’s not so they can tow your vehicle and you pay them.
THIS PLACE IS SUPER SHADY, SKETCHY, AND DOWN RIGHT A HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY LEASE.
How many one star reviews is it going to ta Review from Google Oct 2017: Mill Creek allows YOUR car to be towed. They allow the white-trash tow truck drivers to come into the parking lot late at night "LOOKING" for cars to tow. Even if empty spaces are everywhere, they will tow your car. No one even has to call to complain, the contract allows the driver to basically cherry pick whatever car they want.
SCAM ALERT Review from Google Oct 2017: If you’re a college student looking at signing a lease with Mill Creek Apartments, don’t. The staff, particularly the management, is not there to help you. They are there to put people in apartments and get their money. That is it. They are not going to explain to you what kind of arrangement you are getting into. The main manager will not give you a copy of your lease. “You have to ask for it.†So, ask for it, but better yet, don’t get an apartment with them. You will get screwed over if you end up with an incompatible roommate, even if they know their track record of turning in rent late. They will not explain to you the extent of the lease; “that is between you and your roommate.†When you do ask questions, they will be condescending and may or may not give you beneficial information. They fail to take their responsibility in Review from Google Aug 2017: The staff take forever to get back with people on their questions and they never actually fix anything when service requests are put in. I made a terrible decision in living here and am sad that I still have 12 months left on my lease. Place is super trashy- people are not fined for not picking up dog poop and I have seen used condoms and needles throughout parking lots. Staff can be nice depending on who you speak to and what time of the day it is and/or which way the wind is blowing. Review from Google Jul 2017: Do not even bother trying to call them. I was on hold for an hour and 45 minutes, the only way to get your questions answered is to go there in person. Every leasing agent will give you a different answer, and the guy who woks there, don't remember his name, he is nice but a complete idiot! Review from Google Jul 2017: The new office staff has no idea what they are doing it took them over a month to process my renewal application even with me going in there and calling which is pretty much the only way to get things done. It took them a week to replace the burned out lights on my stairwell even with me emailing and calling every single day. They don't fully explain anything about what your signing or going to have to pay and then they forget you paid for any of it when you ask why it hasn't been processed. They also lose mail and half the time I try to go in there I can't because they're out on tours and have nobody in the office. It's pretty much just a circle of leasing consultants blaming whatever issue you have on the previous leasing consultant you spoke too. Review from Google Jun 2017: I've lived here since the end of 2014 and have not had many issues, however in the past ~6 months the office staff has been switched out and the new staff 1) has no idea what they're doing 2) doesnt answer phones or return messages ( the only way to get their attention is to go in person) and 3) is rude. Previously i have recommended this complex to friends, however with the change in office staff I can no longer make that recommendation.
Review from 6/1/17 on Google May 2017: doesn't even deserve a one star. They don't care about anything, only if the rent gets paid. I had upstair neighbors that are constantly messing up the apartment. It has poured water from the ceilings THREE TIMES in less than a year! I have been given silly advise on how to "handle" it, here are some of them: "have you changed your filter?" "have you tried talking to the neighbors about it?"
Seriously........They are worthless! Nothing even got repaired for the water damage, they just said they could repaint the ceiling...Since apparently paint solves water damage problems according to them.
Review from 5/9/17 on Google Apr 2017: Worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. My neighbor was a heavy smoker and it seeped through the walls (making my apartment smell like cigarettes.) Something would break in my apartment every week. Washer and dryers don't work well, at all. Took two-three cycles to dry a normal load of laundry. Only one dumpster like five buildings away from mine. Pool, gym and clubhouse are too small. Cleaning up after pets is not enforced. Little to no storage in the apartment unit (no pantry, no linen closet, no shelves in laundry room.
Review from 4/18/17 on Google Feb 2017: New manager XXXX was disrespectful to tenants had been living there for 3 years. Outright insulting . Had advised the family to seek civil atty Counsel and superior court relief for this outregeous atack on their dignity. Undoubtedly she lacks proper training
Property owners should be held accountable and brought to bear. Lesson learned.
Review from 2/27/17 on Google Sep 2016: The staff at Mill Creek is awesome! They're always professional and courteous. The Clubhouse is great and the grounds are well kept. Sincerely, Happy Tenant P.S. very safe
Review from 9/26/16 on Apartment Ratings Jul 2016: When I first moved in I thought this place was great. Little did I know it's not. We put in multiple service requests and it took 2-4 days for them to come, but the last one we had put in took over 30 days and we were moving out. When they gave us our renewal rate it was over $100 dollar difference. They were not helpful nor nice about us moving out. I will never rent here nor recommend anyone to live here. Only pro is they're pet friendly
Review from 7/30/16 on Apartment Ratings May 2016: I'm not one to write reviews but I feel as though people need to be aware of the lies and deceit that they will be receiving at Mill Creek Apartments. From the beginning we have been lied to about the unit that we are receiving about the upgrades the remodels and any possibility to move to a an updated unit while keeping our same price like we were told in the beginning now we've been told that were not able to do that that we have to pay the complete difference in prices if we would like to move to it updated unit. When we first moved here I rent was only 695 a year later now it's 760 and we still don't have the option to upgrade in our unit while were living here we would have to move to another unit and pay well over $1000 a month that is not worth it for less than 1300 ft.²
Review from 5/8/16 on Apartment Ratings May 2016: SWITCH AND BAIT!!!!
Me and my boyfriend were looking at the one beds in the newly renovated section. The apartment were we shown was completely different from the one they were going to give us. There was no coat closet, bathroom was horrible, paint was a light orange color. The floor plan was way different.....and the guy Sean who helped us didn't seem to excited that I did not want that apartment. The prices they charge are outrageous for being close to crackville.
Do not live here!! Check out St. Andrews Reserve.....I have lived here for two years and just wanted to move closer to the city part of Wilmington, but I'd stay somewhere where they will not switch and bait you!!
Review from 5/8/16 on Apartment Ratings Oct 2015: I was initially excited to move in - yes it is an older complex but since I am renting a 1 bedroom usually the trade off is more space. I absolutely love having a screened in porch and wood burning fireplace - but the roach problem is atrocious. This has been going on in my apartment since I moved in about 8 months ago - yes they will come spray your apartment but not the exterior of your building or the other apartments so of course the roaches come back. I will say that I live in the older section which is heavily wooded (and poorly sided) so this might be an issue for the newer section.
Review from 10/26/15 on Apartment Ratings Sep 2015: We've lived here for only six weeks. The apartment was left rather filthy, dust coated webs hanging from the ceiling and more. Equipment is old and/or extremely cheap. The price for the product is far too high. Marketing efforts are a tease because everything is masked, at least in phase one. Fire hazards exist and have been reported. Our apartment is infested with roaches larger than my big toe. You can hear them scramble across the floor before you even see them. They are everywhere and have been reported. NOTHING has been done about either issue.
Review from 9/18/15 on Apartment Ratings May 2015: Great floor plan, WAY overpriced! ------ people at the front desks. The hidden fees are a killer! You can hear EVERYTHING! Dog poop everywhere outside. Only one half of the apartment complex has signal for Directv/Dish. Takes roughly 8-10 days for them to fix anything. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.
Review from 5/05/15 on Apartment Ratings Feb 2015: Hi! I've lived in Mill Creek for more than 2 years now and I absolutely love it here! I moved here from Maryland without knowing anyone and I can honestly say that everyone at Mill Creek feels like family and friends now. It was of great comfort moving to a new town to feel safe in my new community. The office and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. I love the sense of community and the grounds are kept up beautifully. Everything you need in one place :) I would highly recommend Mill Creek! - Johanna Review from 2/26/15 on Apartment Ratings Dec 2014: DO NOT LIVE HERE! Everything about these apartments are HORRIBLE! They never have their systems in order. I CAN NOT WAIT till my lease is up. I will NEVER love in a bell community again! The staff is absolutely dumb found, the safety there is none! My roommates car got broken into in the parking lot and the walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors conversations. I never recommend this place for anyone! And I have dry my clothes twice in my dryer. Review from 12/11/14 on Apartment Ratings Apr 2014: I am currently still living in Mill Creek and want to let prospective residents know about my experience. I live in Phase 2 (the newer section) of the complex. This is the best experience I have ever had at an apartment complex. During 7 months of searching, Mill Creek was the only place I was interested in for a 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment. I had a very short time between receiving a job offer and needing to secure an apartment, and the people in the office were very helpful in speeding up the process for me.
Review from 4/12/2014 on Apartment Ratings Aug 2013: My husband, son, dog, and I have lived at Mill Creek for 2 months now. We live in the newer section. Honestly we really like our apartment - everything is very nice, and I love the staff. Every single one of them (and I have dealt with all of them) are super helpful and friendly. The apartment itself is the nicest that we looked at in this price range (around $1000/mo) - we have 9' ceilings, crown molding, and updated fixtures throughout. Yes you can hear the neighbors sometimes, but hello it's an apartment complex. About the pool, yes I do agree that there probably aren't only residents swimming there, and sometimes it's less than ideally cleaned.
Review from 8/22/2013 on Apartment Ratings Jul 2013: I've lived in many apartments and this is the WORST property I've ever lived in. If you need anything fixed, good luck! DO NOT SPEAK WITH -----! She is rude, careless, never smiles, acts as if you are an inconvenience to her, and has a real problem with letting things "slip through the cracks". Go to Dori, she makes things happen. If you do decide to move here, be sure to ask about all fees and extra charges that will be applied to your rent. They like to throw in a lot of extra fees that they don't tell you about upon lease signing. They also do not tell you that this is a college property. There are beer bottles thrown around on the ground, trash, kids partying and yelling throughout the night.
