Oct 2017: I am a freshman in college and new to the Wilmington area. Deciding to live at Carolina Cove was the best decision I made! Its a very friendly community along with a big pool, 24 hour fitness and printing/study room in the club house. Carolina Cove is very involved with the community, they always host fun events for residents to interact with one another. The maintenance team is very friendly and helpful with anything you may need! I will definitely be renewing my lease here for next year! Review from Google Sep 2017: This place is a great destination for anyone looking to find a place with a home feel. Great facilities even better location. Coming from trinity and bell properties in the past my standards were set pretty high but working closely with Angel and being on the property really gave me the home feeling I was looking for staff, space and safety make this property a must stop... along with the basketball court :) Review from Google Sep 2017: Do not live here! The excellent reviews you see are placed by the Carolina Cove Marketing team. IT is noisy! Unoccupied apartments are not locked and are used by people that do not pay rent. Carolina Cove front desk people never check
IDs! Aug 2017: This was our boys first choice in apartments when we started looking for an apartment for them for school. I can say from support we have received from the staff, it has been spot on. Evan has been instrumental at helping the transition to apartment living for my boys great. He has responded to every email and phone call promptly and proficiently. The accommodations, and amenities are great, if they get board it's their own fault. So from my prospective as a parent, i'm glad my boys have chosen to live at Carolina Cove. And that we have a staff member ( Evan) that is willing to go the extra mile to make sure any issue is handled promptly Review from Google Jun 2017: Carolina Cove is the best student housing in Wilmington by far! The pool area is always super fun. The staff is helpful and really friendly every time I need something. Couldn't imagine living anywhere else!
Review from 6/1/17 on Google May 2017: I couldn't recommend this place enough. All inclusive prices, upgraded pool area, and the new furniture in my apartment make me never want to move! You can't find everything they offer at their price point anywhere else.
Review from 5/29/17 on Google May 2017: I don't leave reviews but the Cove has earned it. Lived here for a year and loved everything about it. Work orders are completed in a timely manner and with good craftsmanship. Management has never been anything but polite and helpful, especially the girls and guys manning the front desk. Residents can be noisy and rowdy from time to time, but this is to be more than expected (if you have any common sense) when living in a community that specializes in student living.
Review from 5/12/17 on Google Dec 2016: One the of best student living apartments in Wilmington! I've lived in a handful of apartments in the area and Cove is definitely one of the best. The front office staff has been extremely helpful with any problems or questions we had while living there. It's also one of the only gated complex's around!
Review from 12/20/16 on Google Dec 2016: Do not move in here! The apartment was disgusting when I moved in, they never replaced the carpet in my room and waited over a month to replace the carpet in the living area. The whole place is disgusting (trash bags everywhere) and it is noisy 24/7. I have had many problems with them charging me fees that I do NOT owe (such as pet fees even though I don't have one) and they never notified me of a bounced check until two months after. The staff is lazy and disorganized and will never help or answer your questions.
Review from 12/4/16 on Google Nov 2016: They do not help with just about anything that costs them money. In fact there is a very large hole in the fence that they don't bother fixing. What a nice "gated" community. I urge anyone to not go here.
Review from 11/13/16 on Google May 2016: Carolina Cove is the worst! Plan on paying an extra 50-150 every month on hidden fees. Management works in a non timely fashion. We put in some service repairs and had to ask multiple times before someone finally came. Once you sign the lease, you must pay 3 months rent in advance to get out($2400). Wilmington is beautiful, don't waste your time stressing out living at "Wilmington's best hideaway." One last thing, don't invite any non residents over, chances are all of the few visitor spots are taken, park anywhere else, you're 100% getting towed within the hour, yet , management can't do they're jobs.
Review from 5/14/16 on Google Apr 2016: Where oh where to begin? Well, I initially chose the Cove for it's proximity to UNCW campus and because it was "Wilmington's Best Hideaway." Wilmington's best hideaway was surrounded by a comfortable wooded area... until about 3 weeks into my stay. Sometime around early September, the madness began. Starting at 6:00 in the morning every day for six days a week, the enveloping trees were all cut down in large bundles at a time. After that, construction for yet another apartment complex began. This also started at the crack of dawn and continued for a minimal of 12 hours (no, sunset did not mean an end to their daily shift).
Review from 4/20/16 on Google Feb 2016: I absolutely love living in Carolina Cove! The staff in the office is amazing and they are always willing to help you out with whatever you need. Out of all of the apartment complexes I looked at in Wilmington, Carolina Cove was my top pick simply because the atmosphere is super welcoming and I felt at home instantly. Not to mention the pool area which is awesome! I definitely recommend this apartment complex to any college student looking for a fun/safe place to live!
Review from 2/21/16 on Google Nov 2015: Love living here! It has a great community vibe! Nov 2015: Lived here at CC since it first opened and I can its transitions through the two years has been negative. I never really had any major issue until my last few months. I was all for backing up CC because I am a positive person and know running an apartment complex is not an easy task but I can no longer do that. There are some great things about CC: location, bedroom size, bathroom size, closet size, and the fact you can lease your own room. However the management there for a lack better words is terrible. I am not saying don't move there because its a good spot overall for the average college student but make sure you read the lease all the way though, understand what you are paying for, and know your legal rights as a renter.
Review from 11/8/2015 on Apartment Ratings Jul 2015: I'm ending my second year at Carolina Cove. Overall, my first year went decently well other than neighbors who were occasionally rowdy and the fact that I was told by office personnel that we would have a recycling system, which we don't (but there is a tanning bed, so don't worry, their priorities are totally straight). However, after the new management took over after the first year and I got new neighbors, I have been extremely disappointed and cannot wait to move out. I have neighbors who party so loud that my apartment rattles throughout the night at least 3 nights a week. For a student who works and takes classes, this isn't a good environment at all.
Review from 7/23/2015 on Apartment Ratings Jul 2015: My wife and I were looking for an apartment for our daughter since she would be attending UNCW for the next 2 years. We were very discouraged in our search until we came across the Carolina Cove apartments. The number one feature for us was safety. The gated community and location gave us that sense of security we needed as parents. Our daughter became a big fan when she saw how spacious and nice the amenities were. They went over and beyond with the pool. Over the next 2 years I believe our daughter spent more time at the pool than the beach because it was like an oasis in her backyard.
Review from 7/18/2015 on Apartment Ratings Feb 2015: Allows convicted felons of kidnapping and assault to reside as residents, please take note of this for the safety of your children. Review from 2/13/15 on Apartment Ratings Jan 2015: Definitely my worst living experience to date. Staff is completely unhelpful and lacks knowledge on basically everything pertaining to the complex. On my move-in date I was given all the wrong keys and the staff was annoyed that I had to keep coming back to receive the right keys- which is absolutely ridiculous. Anytime I had questions about rent or services, the staff was completely clueless. The neighbors are the worst, there is constant noise and again the staff does nothing about it except announce whenever noise complaints are filed which gives away all anonymity and makes for an even worse living environment. Review from 1/09/15 on Apartment Ratings Oct 2014: I lived at Carolina Cove for just over a year. The gated community and the layout of the apartments was a go for me! Apartment complex is great, the noise wasn't too bad, much better than my previous apartments in Wilmington. Front desk is very helpful and maintenance is really good. The best part was how friendly all my neighbors were. Got to meet a lot of other residents at their events.
These other reviews, from my experience, are solo incidents that the residents are taking their frustration out on this website. I would recommend this place to anyone going to school in the area!!
