Emory University is located in a district called Druid Hills in Atlanta. It is also right next to The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The main campus is about a 15 minute drive from downtown and midtown Atlanta as well as the Buckhead area. This area has a number of nice apartment communities, as well as condominium and townhouse complexes. If you need a place in this area you will be near a number of great places. As college areas go, it's a safe place to be, with enough restaurants, night spots, shopping and other activities to keep you busy and occupied when you're not studying.

The Druid Hills neighborhood has a lot of attractions such as Fernbank Museum of Natural history and the Fernbank Science Center. For a quiet hike, head over to Fernbank Forest, which has 65 acres of wooded area. Or check out Olmsted Linear Park for a jog through beautiful landscaping. A short drive away you will find Medlock Park, Ira B. Melton Park, which has a single-track mountain bike trail, and the Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve, known for its quiet hiking trails and bird watching opportunities.

Midtown is another popular neighborhood near the Emory campus. Residents have a wide choice that ranges from homes in traditional neighborhoods, to apartments, lofts and hi-rises with spectacular views of the city. Midtown is also within easy striking distance of most major attractions in the City. And getting around is a snap. In addition to the city's most walkable environment, Midtown serves cyclists with eight miles of bike lanes, easy accessibility by car, and one of the most robust transit systems in the Southeast.

Emory University runs an extensive fleet of shuttles, called the "Cliff". The shuttle bus network, named ‘Cliff,’ services Emory’s Midtown, Clifton, Executive Park and Briarcliff campuses. It also includes Park-n-Ride service from local malls. Cliff also allows people to move around Emory without the need to find parking or worry about driving in local traffic.
