Jul 2019: I enjoyed living at Ventana. Hands down the best place near UVU. Underground parking, massive rooms and closet, and big living room. Some people COMPLAIN about the cleaning checks, but hey—if you don’t clean...then yeah, you’re not gonna pass. Review from Google Jul 2019: I lived at Ventana for 3 years with no problems. The apt is large, open and bright. We never failed a cleaning check and got to skip a couple because we did so well. Underground parking is great in the winter and plentiful. The maintenance is great, they clean the carpets at least once a year and paint during the summer. I was not thrilled when the utilities went up but the rates are comparable to other nice housing. I hated Wolverine Crossing, I had 12 roommates rotate through the other 3 rooms in 1 year. Here people seem content and are not trying to escape. Jul 2019: Do. Not. Stay. Here. Unethical evil management. Will screw you with weekly “cleaning†fines. Will steal your deposit. The management has no morals. Read the lease and notice the long list of fines because you’ll be paying all of them multiple times. There is a dark corner of hell reserved for the soulless pieces of excrement who own and manage this place. Review from Google Jul 2019: Do. Not. Stay. Here. Unethical evil management. It has very thin walls, I can clearly hear people in the apartments next to you even if they are not talking that loud. They have THE MOST ridiculous cleaning checks you will ever encounter which I find funny because when I moved in there was trash behind the bed and the mattress smelled pretty bad. They are money hungry and will try to fine you for everything that they can find. The only good thing about this place is the location which makes it kinda worth it. Review from Google Jun 2019: Honestly I’ve loved living here. If you’re a nice person and clean you’re going to be fine. They can be sticklers with a clean check but if you actually CLEAN they’re understanding. I only had one recheck and they checked me on the spot and didn’t charge me. They really want the apartments to stay nice so they expect them to be cleaned well. You DONT pay for a parking pass and there is so much parking above and underground. Rent is expensive but you get what you pay for! Office staff is very helpful. Review from Google Apr 2019: Do not live here. If you want to be treated like a 2 year old, then be my guest. Cleaning checks are a pain, you are not allowed to have people stay over, and rent is ridiculously expensive for “student housing.†You have to pay for a parking permit and guests have to leave your place before cerfew. Yeah cerfew. You pay an arm and a leg to live here and you can’t even have people stay over or you may get evicted. Much better places around. Review from Google Mar 2019: don't move in here. It is the worst place I've ever lived. If you move in, be prepared to pay an extra $15 for cleaning rechecks. It is nearly impossible to pass cleaning checks. I've lived here for 13 months and despite spending 4+ hours cleaning for the cleaning check and doing a great job, they always find some tiny little thing to charge you for. They are just cheap and try to squeeze out every penny they can. There's a reason they have such a low rating, trust that rating and don't move in here, it's not worth it. I was charged $15 for a cleaning recheck for missing a tiny bit of dirt (picture posted in images section) that has been missed by my roomates many times, yet they didn't get charged for it. This place is not worth the location. Review from Google Mar 2019: Ok but super expensive and not at all helpful when it comes to certain situations. Review from Google Sep 2018: I absolutely LOVE this place! Big spacious single rooms, awesome people. Super social and fun! Would highly recommend! Review from Google Aug 2018: What could be really a really amazing apartment is being run into the ground by the worst property manager I have ever met. Too young and too immature for the position. VENTANA- FIND SOMEONE ELSE. Review from Google Jul 2018: I honestly dont know why there is such low ratings... the price got a little high, but you wont find a nice place. I had multiple people tell me how nice my apartment was and how much bigger it was than other places.
People who review usually have complaints but this is seriously a nice place and it's a very safe place to be. The ward is amazing and it's close to campus. The rooms are large and you wont find a bigger closet anywhere. Review from Google Jun 2018: Ventana Student Housing isn’t worth the money. I’ve lived here for two years, and the only upsides are location and closet space. Their utility charges are outrageous and they don’t take care of their tenants. So glad to be out of this place soon. Also, if you have one or more cars, expect to pay to park both, even if there are more than enough parking spacesâœŒï¸ Don’t even consider leniency in anything they do, because they don’t budge. I wanted to like this place more, and actually love the units, but the hassle of living here is making me glad I’m on my way out. Review from Google Jun 2018: Horrible management. Absolutely unable to reach them during office hours despite multiple attempts. Review from Google Jun 2018: I lived here for one semester. It’s a nice place, but they do not care about their tenants one bit. They are consistently looking for ways to nickel and dime you, and are extremely disagreeable. Absolutely horrible management. If you live there just count on not getting your security deposit back because they will find ways to trick you out of it. Review from Google Jun 2018: Extremely unhappy with my experience at Ventana student housing. When I first arrived, my room and bathroom were a disaster from the previous tenant. My mom and I spent 3 hours cleaning. I was a tenant at Ventana for almost two years and after moving out I received $46.00 of my $300.00 deposit back. If you want to get ripped off through cleaning checks, raised rent, and random fees, live here. don't plan on getting your deposit back no matter how much you clean or how much you upkeep your apartment. Also if you are looking for a social environment this is not a great place to live. The apartment complex never has gatherings to make friends with other tenants, which a lot of other student housing offers. Bottom line is the owner is trying to squeeze every last dime out of the students who live here. If you want to get ripped off and have a sub Review from Google May 2018: I lived here for two years. It had decent pool/hot tub, but once the pool closes for the winter it takes a loooong time for it to open up again. Parking is great and there's underground parking available. But, beware, they have people checking the parking lot for anyone without a ticket constantly. They are extremely picky about parking.
The apartments themselves are very nice. Great quality. Everything other than the dishwasher/disposal is in good shape. The dishwasher is just super super cheap so it flooded every now and then. You have your own washer and dryer, which is awesome. Furniture is ok in quality. Worn, but good. Huge closet and private rooms.
Now for the negatives...the cleaning checks are ridiculously hard. They will check every single little thing. Try to be there in person if you can when they check so you can argue if some Review from Google Mar 2018: I like how they have private rooms. It makes things real easy. Decent parking. Apartments are nice. Cleaning checks are pretty ridiculous. And they are raising their prices like crazy. So thats why I'm moving out. overall they are a solid three star. When the prices go up they deserve a 1 star. Review from Google Mar 2018: Living at Ventana has not been a pleasant experience. I would not recommend anyone to live here. Review from Google Mar 2018: Good place, terrible managment
The apartment and room are really nice but the management like to charge for everything. Along with the recently increased prices I would not recommend living here Review from Google Feb 2018: I have enjoyed living here. Our apartment is very clean and maintenance has always been on top of it when we report a problem. Property manager is great too! The only thing I don't agree with, which is why i'm leaving, is that they are raising their rent prices. They are raising it to match other student housing prices. The reason a lot of students live here is because it is affordable, and raising it to meet competitors pricing is not the way to keep renters. They are charging 240 a month in utilities per apartment gave us little to no warning, with no exceptions. If they can't fill an apartment of 4 people, your apartment is still required to split this which makes this price unreal. Right now, Utilities between 4 girls is 25-30 a person, so raising it 240 does not make sense. I wish they were out to help us broke college students instead of Review from Google Feb 2018: Do you like getting sleep? Do you like keeping your money? Do you like living in a place that smells nice and not like a cats liter box? THEN don't LIVE HERE. Seriously this place sucks. I was going in thinking it would be good and convenient since it's close to campus and the pictures looked nice. Yeah. don't judge a book by its cover. I was wrong.
There were many nights I got no sleep because of the people that lived next to me and stayed up late talking super loud. The walls are paper thin. I could literally quote their conversations....even with headphones in I was still able to hear them. So that was always nice on nights before tests.
This place also rings you for every penny you have. Cleaning checks are absolutely ridiculous. I was fined for a mark that was on the pantry door that wouldn't come off even after I tired to clean it. My r Review from Google
