Oct 2019: Great Place to live in. New owner does a lot to improve the state of the apartment complex.
Staff is very helpful. Review from Google Sep 2019: I have lived here for around six years now. I want to say how happy I with the new ownership and new management.
I have always felt safe here, but I love the new security cameras and lights. It just adds that extra peace of mind.
Our complex is getting a nice makeover. Review from Google Sep 2019: There was a billing dispute when I moved out. The complex tried to charge me almost $1,200 in rent for a month that I did not live there and for cleaning fees. The new manager was very understanding and helped me with my situation very quickly. I even ended up getting my security deposit back. Thank you for caring about the little guys. Review from Google Sep 2019: I would highly recommend leasing from Greentree and will be renewing my lease here for a few more years. The apartments and property are beautiful. The old tenants mentioned problems with old staff however the new lady manager and office staff is friendly and maintenance promptly addresses any issues, they have cleaned up a lot and made improvments. The complex is quiet and well maintained. Great place to live! Review from Google Aug 2019: Well, here it is folks. After one full week of the Deluxe Trash Pick Up Service, after consolidating 6 trash bins into 2, we have this glorious sight to behold. Tucked away behind the out-of-sight Building 4, we have two empty dumpsters and two large heaping piles of litter and garbage. And that's not all, folks! We also have a random assortment of litter streaming about the nearby parking lots (not pictured)! All this could be yours, for an additional $20 per month on top of rent, utilities, and insurance.
Jokes aside, all this is genuine pity, too. Two dumpsters are clearly not enough to service the whole complex. Some of the local kids used to play in this parking lot next to Building 4, because it was low traffic and was the only generally safe place to play -- as the greenery areas are just dog bathrooms or are too close to the cliff. Now, because of the increased traffic and increased litter, the kids really can't play outside anymore Review from Google Jul 2019: A few months ago, I left a 4 star review for these apartments. Unfortunately, I have to retract that.
As of June, Greentree is under new management, and it’s clear that they’re just another big company that puts profits over their tenants. The first distressing change they made was to cut back many of the beautiful trees that helped make this place special. I understand safety and preventative tree care, but what they did was just excessive. They also intend to bulldoze over the community garden (claiming it’s an “eyesoreâ€), and no doubt in its place will be another uninspired bit of landscaping like every other apartment complex.
More importantly, where there were once six dumpsters spread throughout the large and hilly complex, there are now only two, tucked away at the very far back end of the property. To add insult to injury, management has begun to offer a trash pickup service for $20 a month Review from Google Jul 2019: I'll be leaving as soon as I can. After the property was bought by another owner they decided that they'd be "evolving to make greentree as eco friendly as possible". They did this by removing all but two dumpsters from the entire complex. They then introduced a "waste valet service", so they could then charge you $20 a month to pick the trash up. Charging people to pick up their garbage is ridiculous, especially since they had dumpsters in the first place. don't rent here, because after all that they figured it would be cool to also raise the rent by $100 after having made no improvements to the property. They're after your money any way they can get it. Review from Google Jul 2019: Glad our lease is ending. We've had an overall great experience for the most part that was soured since new management has taken over. They've REMOVED ALL BUT TWO DUMPSTERS and are charging for an optional "doorside trash removal" service. We've had raccoons in our walls, bug problems, etc.
Glad to know I won't be supporting extortionist policies any longer. get out ASAP. Review from Google Jul 2019: I do not live at Greentree Village Apartments, but my daughter does, and I can confirm the following:
1. If your HVAC goes out on a Friday, don't expect a response unless you go in person to the office and report it during regular office hours on the next business day. The complex has a voicemail system that takes messages, but that is all. My husband had to go to the complex office on Monday morning to report the problem on my daughter's behalf since the office voicemail box was full and she had to go to work. When he told Chelsea, the apartment manager, that he and my daughter had left messages over the weekend, she said she never received them. I've lived in several apartment complexes before and they were all responsive and helpful--even if it was a weekend and especially if the temperatures were extreme. They are also behind on other maintenance requests because they seem to be short staffed Review from Google Jul 2019: We’ve lived here for three years now, and we are thankfully finishing out our lease at the end of this month. If you would’ve asked me to leave a review even a month ago, I would’ve left 5 stars. Sure, this place has its flaws like any other, but we loved living here. Good location, maintenance was timely, neighbors were neighbors. Recently within the last 3 weeks or so, everything has gone downhill.
-Our AC has been out since June 25th. Supposedly the maintenance has fixed it, and it’s MY fault that it keeps freezing over. Also, the maintenance man took a Tupperware bowl from INSIDE my cabinet to use as a dripping bucket. He also decided to throw out the air filter in our trash can, and not to replace it.
We were promised a wall unit AC that ‘we would definitely get installed yesterday’. We still don’t have one, and our request was marked as completed.
-They’ve taken away 3 dumpsters because it looks ‘trashy’ Review from Google Jul 2019: Being here for a few month, all I can say this place is very welcoming and comfortable with the right price. Review from Google Jun 2019: My husband and I have lived at Greentree for about 2 years and we love it. It’s a great location, really close to the 17 bus line and just up the street from three different grocery stores and a pharmacy. The staff is always friendly and courteous, and maintenance is prompt. We’ve dealt with a handful of issues (roof leak, broken pipes, etc.) but nothing more than what you’d expect from any building of this age. And again, maintenance is quick to handle any problems we have.
Another reviewer said that there was a shooting in this complex, but I have no idea what they’re talking about. As far as I can tell that never happened. We’ve never had issues with loud or unruly neighbors; everyone seems very conscientious and it’s a nice community. My husband and I happy here and intend to stay for quite a while! Review from Google May 2019: Maintenance does not fix things well, walls are thin, not enough visitors parking spots and then boot if you leave your car in a regular spot too long. Other people have said worst. I will keep it short. Review from Google Apr 2019: RUN! I lived here for three years, 2015-2018. It was great my first year living on my own. I loved my little apartment, but sadly it went downhill. After a terrifying roach nightmare after some unsightly people above me moved in, my place was infested with roaches, brown recluses AND mice! I had fur and poop in my oven drawer constantly my last six months there. They sent pest control when they felt like it. My kitchen pipes busted every other month because they kept replacing them with old parts instead of new. I had to have black mold cleaned from my shower so much that they had to replace all my shower tiles. There was a mold spot the size of a frisbee disc that grew in the ceiling of my cupboard that had to be cut out our. If that’s not disgusting enough for you, there’s more. The first year I could swim and lay by the pool. The second year I couldn’t swim because it always looked filthy Review from Google Mar 2019: VERY LONG but WORTH READING. STAY AWAY!!!
Before moving into this apartment I was very excited, except for the fact i was not going to have a washer and dryer connection, however; i over came that and moved in anyway. The apartment was very spacious and had a lot of room, however there was a hole in the bathroom that was suppose to be fixed a few days after according to the landlord which never happened the whole year i lived there. After settling into this place is when it all went down hill. The neighbors above us when i first moved in where so loud and obnoxious. Having a 7 year old that got old quick. I had to send numerous emails to Chelsea due to her lack of getting the problem fixed. After all that happened then came the roach problem. We seen roaches in numerous parts of the apartment ranging mainly in the kitchen and the bathrooms to some parts of the hallway and living room. I had the pest control come multiple times and they did not do anything Review from Google Feb 2019: After living here for 2 months I feel I can leave a honest review. I have never seen a bug, much less a cockroach! My apartment is very energy efficient and the laundry facilities are always open and clean...
My only concern is you can hear EVERYTHING! It sounds like a 600lb guy is running above me..lol
I love having a outside balcony and the office staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Overall view..great place for a great price! Review from Google Dec 2018: If zero stars were an option that’s what I would have put. No this place didn’t just make me mad so that’s not why I’m writing a review. I’m writing a review to warn anyone who rents off of this place what to expect. From the first day I moved in here it was HIGHLY infested with roaches. I can deal with some bugs that are easy to kill and move on but everyday I killed numerous amounts of roaches and did everything possible to kill them. I informed the office over and over of the issue and the pest control guy came ONE time and bombed my apartment. The morning after he bombed, I killed three. I packed my bags to go stay with my family for a few days and while I was there a roach came out of my bags and started running up my moms wall. I had family sitting on my couch and a roach crawled across beside them on my couch. My family was ev Review from Google Nov 2018: It's a family place, needs some tender love and care. (Bad paint jobs, some holes in walls, some plugs don't work, some of the appliances don't work properly and maintenance takes a while to discover where you are to resolve an issue) Other then that, friendly people, a lot of children, off to itself. So there are worse places, but it's home. Review from Google Sep 2018: Rent only a year. During the year I had a failure to pay rent, and had to prove with rent receipt that I did pay. 3 months later awoke to a letter on my door saying marijuana had been smelled coming from G building where I lived. Went on to say if found weed in the apartment was grounds for termination of my lease. I don't smoke weed so I wasn't worried. Had a woman from a neighboring apartment come swim in the pool and when I went to management to voice my concerned I was told that they allow outsiders to swim. I'd have to accept it. I honored my lease, and swiftly moved Review from Google Sep 2018: Lived here for six months. Lot of pests! Bad maintenance. Review from Google Sep 2018: Well so far.... 3 months in... moved in had peanut butter in my cubboards. It was spread around in it. Found onion peels under the kitchen sink. Ac was set to 68, but my window was open. The front door has yet to be sealed correctly, with me writing several maintenance complaints. Ac had yet to work correctly and finally gave out, with in 4 days of me writing to maintenance it wasnt working correctly, again. They said it was working fine. I would like to think it will get better but I am writing this review hoping they will take me seriously and to warn other people. Idk maybe I got a bad apartment. The doors dont close correctly, as in they catch the floor. Windows dont lock correctly. Bathroom tub isnt sealed, tiles aren't sealed. Horrible wiring and light switch places. I could probably go on if I wanted too Review from Google Apr 2018: This is mine and my husband's first apartment. We absolutely love it here. The maintenance staff goes above and beyond to make sure our apartment is in working order. We have never had to wait more than 24 hours for a maintenance request to be filled. Most have been filled in a matter of 2-3 hours. The property manager, Chelsea, is so sweet and remembers who we are. The apartments are a little older, but the only reason I mark it at 4 stars and not 5 is because we have a large glass patio door that is not very energy efficient. But what are you gonna do? Reasonable prices and pet friendly. Review from Google Jan 2018: great place to live recommend it to anyone good prices too Review from Google Oct 2017: It is currently 5am. I am a visitor and my car is booted. No signs anywhere near. Only one is when entering, partially blocked by a tree. This place is garbage. Review from Google Mar 2017: Probably the WORRSSTTTT!!!!!! places to live. If zero stars was an option that would still be me being generous, the staff have no idea what they are doing the water is shut off almost every other day the design of the apartments is horribly flawed the parking is complete trash and nothing ever gets fixed i had to call the office 6 times to fix a simple door. Lived there two years you would think they would replace the carpet, but they decided they would charge us our full deposit to clean 2 small spots ($200) for two tiny spots in the carpet. If anyone is looking into moving into this apartment don't it will be the worst decision you will ever make Review from Google
