Jun 2019: I have had a great experience with Edge. I recently went on a tour from out of town and Catelyn (one of the leasing office staff) was exceptionally helpful. She made arrangements to help us view the property on a summer weekend when it is usually closed. Once I decided to sign, she was super helpful in working with me for an earlier move-in date for graduate school. Overall, I could not be more excited to live at Edge and it is definitely, in part, due to the leasing office staff! Review from Google Oct 2018: My package attempted to delivery two times on WEEKDAY, during 10am - 3pm (yes, very normal time). However, there was no one in the front desk.
Well, I’m ok with that the front desk doesn’t work on weekends. But why there’s no one working front desk on weekday??? There should be one front desk person during 9am - 5pm on weekdays. It is so f WEIRD and FRUSTRATING. ðŸ™„ï¸ Review from Google May 2016: The apartments themselves are pretty nice. Building is quiet and clean, walls have reasonable sound insulation as far as college apartments go. For whatever reason though hallways accumulate certain bad smells. Also, management is a pain when it comes to small issues.
When I toured I was only allowed to tour 412 lofts, and was told that the layout and apartment size was identical. This is not true, the layout of the building is very different.
When I moved in I didn't get my mail key for more than two weeks despite repeated badgering to get it, because they were "making copies". During that time I relied on the front desk staff to open my mailbox for me. Sometimes when the front desk takes packages that cannot be put in the mailbox, they fail to notify you, so now I have to go to the front desk and repeatedly ask if they have it when I am Review from Google Apr 2016: Overall it is a decent place basically on campus so the walk to classes is never over 13 minutes unless you are going to West Bank, and the food places near it are nice. The complaint I have is that they sell it off as a great place, and then you can't realize the downfalls until you actually move in. Some of these faults are the water pressure (weak) and the time it takes for the oven and stove top to heat up (over 20 minutes if you want the oven over 400 F, and 13 minutes on average to bring a 2L pot of water to boil), as well as the water sometimes smelling weird and leaving little red stains in the toilet and shower place (can be easily removed with cleaning equipment/fluids).
The biggest complaint I have is that management is very poor, from what I assume was the switch to East Bank Communities. During the school year of 2015-2016 (It i Review from Google Feb 2016: I've lived in a couple of spots around the east bank, and it's bar far one of the nicest around. It's never loud, ever. Also, they have a security guard at night for late package delivery and it's a perfect spot for a young professional. Review from Google Dec 2015: Overall my experience with the apartment has been very good. It's a little more money, but worth the great location and quality of the apartments. It is a few minutes away from both the Campus Connector and Light Rail, and I feel safe in the Stadium Village neighborhood. The apartment is fully furnished, and the furniture is not cheap like some apartments can be.
My only complaint is that sometimes it can take a lot to get maintenance to come to the apartment. At the beginning of the year I had a fire alarm beeping in my room which sounded like a low battery, even though it is connected to wires. It took several months for this to get fixed, and that was because my roommate caught a maintenance worker in the elevator. As the year went on and more workers were hired however, things were getting fixed more quickly. The workers behind the desk Review from Google Oct 2014: I lived at the Edge on Oak last year and it was wonderful! Rent is a bit high, but comparable to similar buildings in the area, and it really does feel like home. The TV in the community room has all of the channels one could possibly desire, which is great for big sporting events, and the light rail stop and bus stop are very nearby. Maintenance is usually pretty good about getting to any repairs that need to be done, though you might have to remind them a couple of times, and the roof is great for cookouts. My only wishes are an elliptical in the fitness room (I'm not a fan of the cross training thing they have currently), and the fact that the fuse tends to blow if you turn on the kitchen & bathroom lights, garbage disposal, and dishwasher at the same time, though this is easily remedied. I would recommend living here! Review from Google Mar 2014: I have lived at The Edge for about five months now, and I absolutely LOVE it. It's location in the heart of Stadium Village is perfect, and the walk to class is not far at all. Also with the new change in bus routes, there are Campus Connector and Metro Transit stops literally a one minute walk away which is great when it's really cold out. Management is very organized and tends to get any maintenance issues taken care of really quickly. I would definitely recommend living here! Review from Google
