Oct 2018: I've really enjoyed living here so far! The staff has been very nice and distance to campus isn't that bad of a walk. They have great gameday tailgates and I love the student center as well.
People suck at parking on the 85 side and you will get dings in the side of your car from other doors hitting you. It is also a college apartment so there are sometimes neighbors who will blast music until 3am and ones that will leave trash all over their back porch.
There are some ups and downs but it was a great upgrade from living at Ikon last year.
EDIT: I'm so glad I chose to live at Whistlebury for the last year of my college experience and wished I lived there earlier. Being able to walk everywhere is very valuable and the gym upgrades are huge (installed within the last few months of me moving out). would recommend! Review from Google Jul 2018: Great manager. Great ownership. Great maintenance staff! HIGHLY RECOMMEND !! Review from Google Feb 2018: Worse place ever to live!! I currently live here and I’m countinh down the days until we move out. We’ve had numerous problems over the past year. Our washing machine and dryer was broken for 6 months before they replaced. We’ve also had several leaks in the ceilings (were a bottom unit) and all they did was paint over them. It takes people days to just come out and look at anything that’s wrong. We’ve also had several pipes bust which cause our water bill to be sky high. The people in the leasing office are not always nice. The only thing good about whistlebury is the location but even then it’s not worth how much we pay. I wanted to post this review before I moved out to warn any future tenants or anyone who has interest in signing a lease here. Review from Google Feb 2018: UPDATE:
Dead body was found outside whistlebury yesterday 2/6/2017. don't say you weren't warned!!

Average experience here.
I often see sketchy men trolling the parking lot late at night - probably looking for something good to steal. I can usually get away with staring them down until they leave; however, sometimes they approach me asking for a handout. It is across from a large homeless shelter - so you see lots of homeless people (and get harassed occasionally). They will ask you for beer or cigarettes if they see you with either - make a hasty dash to your unit before they can catch you.
Recently a woman got assaulted while running on the road next to Whistlebury. So, be careful when you go out at night (this complex is on the edge of downtown so it's a long walk). Also, before signing, I would check the crime statistic Review from Google Nov 2017: If I could give the apartment complex a 0 star rating I would. While a good location relevant to the downtown area as well as the campus, I would highly urge to find elsewhere to live. While the concept of individual leases is great in reducing financial responsibility for other roommates, it opened up an entirely dangerous situation for me as well as 2 of my other roommates. Our office does not conduct any form of background checks into tenants and placed a tenant in our apartment which for multiple reasons compromised our safety. We were reduced to locking our doors at night as well as having a taser on hand when in our common living areas. The office does not offer to assist in splitting utilities for tenants so the randomly placed roommate put myself as well as the other 2 roommates in a financial burden by refusing to pay bills. When we c Review from Google Oct 2017: Leasing the room rather than the entire apartment reduces financial exposure however students and their parents should think twice about Whistlebury. They can put a stranger in a room in your unit and have no concern for the safety. Management seems to think of safety and harassment by people they put in your unit as "lifestyle choices" while they cash the checks.
Glow in the dark mold that was reported to the management is also a feature of this place. Review from Google Sep 2017: I lived at Whistlebury Walk for 2 years and I absolutely loved it. Whistlebury made my college experience great-- there was a student center with a gym, pool, and study area that was literally a 2 minute walk from me. I could easily walk to school, work or downtown which saved me the hassle of parking or paying downtown.
Also, management was amazing and threw tailgates during football games and provided us food during finals! I never had any problems with my apartment but when I did, management made sure to quickly respond to the problem! You can tell that they care about their residents.
The location, price, and size for this apartment was a absolute steal compared to the other student apartments nearby.
I would recommend this place to anyone, I'm sad i'm not living there with my roomies anymore! Review from Google Oct 2016: The apartments themselves are fine, and the location is great, however I did not renew my lease because the staff was not helpful and during the move out process, they did not give good instructions and then stuck us with random fees for things we did not know we needed to do so we didn't get our deposit back. They try to make money off of you in any way possible, and also, they promised a student center would be built shortly after we moved in, and it was not ready until after we moved out.
Review from 10/18/16 on Google Oct 2016: While it all looks great and glamorous now, there were tenants that paid the price for those renovations. Get everything in writing!
Review from 10/1/16 on Google Aug 2016: Love it here! Bathrooms look so nice and we are amazed at how much the granite counters spiced up the kitchen Review from Google Aug 2016: Living at whistlebury walk has been such a fun experience! The student center is amazing! The workout equipment is always clean and the tanning beds are really nice. It's the perfect location to downtown and campus. Review from 3/17/16 on Google Feb 2016: Great location and they have recently renovated the bathrooms and kitchens which really make a difference. It's fairly quiet for being so close to downtown. Always a great experience working with the people in the office, which is extremely important to me.
Review from 2/27/16 on Google Sep 2015: I lived at Whistlebury from 2012 to 2014, and now i work in property management(so I decided to write a review). I loved the distance from downtown and to my classes on north campus. It was noisy (I probably contributed to that at times), but I expected that. I think I only made one maintenance request, and it was handled within 2 days. They never went over the lease with me, and I think that is important especially with young people. Knowing what I know now, I would have gone over the lease line by line with the staff. I was never concerned about safety, and it was priced well considering the AWESOME location.
Review from 9/8/15 on Apartment Ratings Aug 2015: I wish my son had read the reviews before signing a lease at Whistlebury Walk. It has been a nightmare already. The new section, which was just finished, is no better than the older one. There was a two week delay to move in due to no permit from the fire marshall. And now the new section has no cable and no wifi. The students have been in for two weeks and the management is still failing to get the problem handled, going so far as to say wifi and cable were not guaranteed in the lease. Oh my! DO NOT LIVE HERE.
Review from 8/25/15 on Apartment Ratings Jul 2015: DO NOT LIVE AT WHISTLEBURY PROPERTIES. Like the comment below I would pick zero stars if I could. Whistlebury has taken advantage of my roommates and I time after time. This started August 1, 2013 when we came to move in and were shocked that the office and pool on the property had been torn down. Our lease stated that these amenities would be available and we had never heard about any sort of construction. When we confronted them with this issue they told us it would be renovated and completed by the fall of 2014 with a brand new pool, parking deck, student center with gym, and office.
