May 2018: The staff is super nice and helpful whenever we have a question. 😊 Review from Google May 2018: Shootings, roach infestations, ripping off students by placing them with criminals and psychopaths ...and then charging them rent when they run for their lives...all in a days work for the current managers at Lakeside. good luck! ps. Owner do not respond. You are a crook and only blame shift and make excuses for unethical practices. You care nothing for the welfare of others, only max profit. Review from Google Apr 2018: You might as well call this place the Park at Roach-side. My boyfriend moved into here after waiting for them to "clean" the unit, and I don't think I've seen a more disgusting apartment. Roaches dead and alive everywhere, mold in the shower, dirt on the floor, stuff growing in the sink, and the previous tenant's stuff was STILL in the room??? We spent two whole weeks just cleaning the place and about $80 on roach killer, and we STILL kill 4-5 roaches on a DAILY basis. I cannot believe the audacity of this place to claim that they "cleaned" a unit with mold in the showers and roaches EVERYWHERE. Their "pest control" must be spraying the unit with sugar water. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. PLEASE. I'm begging you. It'd be a better use of your time to take your money and burn it. Save yourself the aggravation and the disgust of living in this pl Review from Google Nov 2017: The staff have always been friendly, welcoming, and quick to fix maintenance requests! The community gives a sense of comfort, safety, and quietness. The bus has 6 stops just within the complex so it’s not a far walk to the bus.
I think the kitchens could use an upgrade in the near future and the bathroom sinks, but you get what you pay for and it is definitely worth it. Also, additional storage to be provided to tenants would make for a smoother transition, but again, not a must have (just something to think about in the future).
Some of my favorite parts about living here in addition to what I’ve already stated are the the accent wall in the living room, the large L shaped outdoor porch, the pond with fountain, the built in desk, and the mirror closets. Hope this helped :) Review from Google Oct 2017: I leased here because of the incredibly low price and have been nothing but satisfied with my stay over the past two years. Not only is the staff friendly and helpful, but the amenities (pools, gym, basketball courts, etc.) are a huge boon. Also, the bus service makes getting to and from campus super easy and convenient. Would highly recommend. Review from Google Oct 2017: You get what you pay for. I enjoy the cheap price and the fact that it is furnished, but other than, there's not much here. I live in a two-bedroom, and it is cramped. They pretty much let anything fly, so if that's what you're looking for, this is the place. On the flip side, they don't respond to issues that well. Our cable and internet did not work for the first two weeks we were here, and I had to put in 5+ requests to get someone to fix it. Bugs are also a problem. Written work orders seem to get a better response. The pools are nice but a bit dirty. The gym is also surprisingly small. It is an okay first apartment, but I will not be living here next year. Sep 2017: I've really enjoyed living here the past two years! The bus stop to campus is extremely convenient. Also they have always responded to maintenance requests within a day or two. I love how they have a tanning bed for residents. On top of that they hold several fun events for residents during the month where we get free stuff and food! I would definitely recommend Lakeside. Review from Google Sep 2017: I really enjoy living here.
Honestly, I have not had any problems with the management or the
apartment.
The maintenance staff solves issues pretty fast and all work orders and
every issue has been solved promptly.
All the furniture provided is high quality.
No bug problems at all in my apartment compared to the Redlands.
definitely recommend signing here, the rent is pretty low compared to
your other apartment choices. Review from Google Aug 2017: Lakeside has incredibly staff! They are all very kind and helpful and they get maintenance requests done within 24-48 hours which is great. It's also a nice low price in a great location close to campus! And they have a bus! You have to share a bathroom but they have a roommate matching system that helps the staff match you with a great roommate. My random roommate turned out to be one of my best friends and we've lived together for 3 years! Students should check it out! Review from Google Jun 2017: To sum it up, monthly price is fixed and reasonable. Management is okay at best. Amenities are only the pool and the gym (even though it's on the small side). The internet sucks, all over, everywhere. So be prepared to spend all your time studying at the library. It's furnished and maintenance orders aren't on their priority list. Basically 3 stars for the fixed price and furnished living.
Review from 6/2/17 on Google May 2017: Worst living experience of my life. The only breath of fresh air is the front desk staff. Upper level management (XXXX) is extremely rude, provide inadequate service, and is not willing to work with residents. I thought leaving Lakeside and delegating my lease would be a breath of fresh air, but the delegation process is even a pain. Search other options with comparable pricing before subjecting yourself.
Review from 5/20/17 on Google May 2017: I thought with the recent change and management I would have a more positive experience and be treated with professionalism while interacting with office workers. The exact opposite was true. Desk workers are rude and incompetent. Manager is completely oblivious and had nothing but a "it's not our fault" statement when I approached him about maintenance leaving my apartment unlocked after changing out appliances during spring break. I would discourage anyone from living here due to the staff, unreliability of management, and last minute email alerts from the office that by the time you read you've already missed.
Review from 5/9/17 on Google Apr 2017: Lakeside has been such a great place to live for my sophomore and junior year at UGA! They host so many events and try to give to their residents as much as possible! The managers are all so great! They are always very accessible and easy to work with! The office staff is so great! XXXX is the best of course!
Review from 4/25/17 on Google Apr 2017: The Park isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. Yeah there are ups and downs, but it is like that with every apartment complex. They have very great amenities and landscaped grounds. It is also in a pretty safe and secluded location.
The staff is young, and they can sometimes be a little unprofessional when it come to dealing with tense situations, but overall they are very nice.
Review from 4/12/17 on Google Feb 2017: I love living at the Park Lakeside. Aside from the fact that they offer a 24 hour gym, a couple of swimming pools, tennis courts and basketball courts, the staff are always friendly and willing to help. Maintenance is kept up and done regularly, with service calls always completed in a timely manner. Plus they are always on top of communication with their residents, giving us information on everything that's happening in our community. On top of all this, they are conveniently located off of South Milledge and right next to the 10 Loop.
Review from 2/19/17 on Google Dec 2016: I lived here during my first year of grad school and it was fine.
PROS:
-furnished
-includes water, internet, cable
-bill us for GA power so we don't have to sign up with GA Power ourselves and splits it among roommates
-handles complaints pretty quickly (couple of incidences where neighbors would be too loud got resolved in a timely manner)
-occasional events and food for residents
-Athens transit takes you right from the apt neighborhood to school
CONS:
-continuously raises the price every year
-no counter space in the kitchen to do any real cooking!
Review from 12/23/16 on Google Dec 2016: don't rent here. Seriously. don't. I rented here because I thought it was a great price, well low peice comes with low quality. Managment is not professional, the payment outlet is complicated and always messed up. The actual apartments are gross (More-so than you would anticipate for the low price). The $100 gift card that you are supposed to get if you sign is a hoax. It's been a year since my roommates and I have signed and none of us have gotten the promised cards yet. Bugs are always in our apartment because of the poor weather stripping and insulation throughout the apartment. The water heaters work only on occasion. I could go on but I think my point is made. This place is terrible. My roommates and I are moving out after our lease is up!
Review from 12/5/16 on Google May 2016: Lakeside's rates are fantastic and compared to the competition, they are really affordable. They just installed new light fixtures and fans in our apartment that have made our apartment look really nice! We are still waiting on the new appliances, which we hope will get here soon. The pool has been great this summer so far!
Review from 5/27/16 on Google May 2016: I feel yall are doing an excellent job. When I 1st moved in there was talk of remodeling, I can definitely see the improvements and growth. The lounge area could be stocked more often when it runs out of coffee and stuff but I completely understand trying time keep up with so many people using it. My roommates are awesome! Overall my experience at the park has been great.
Review from 5/9/16 on Google May 2016: The staff is absolutely terrible. Dont let these posts fool you. They literally give incentives to their residents to leave good comments and reviews. I lived here for one semester and had to constantly switch apartments because my first apartment had a bed bug infestation. They would not let me out of the lease and they waited for actually evidence, aside from the bites and bug tracings everywhere, until i brought a live bed bug to the office in a ziploc. They then moved me to another apartment that had a terrible ant infestation.... I live at Hillside now and prefer it over Lakeside. The staff can be a bit rude sometimes but the apartment quality is way better and you have your own private bathroom.
Review from 5/1/16 on Google Jun 2015: They SUCK --- here ! My roommate and I decided to give this place te benefit of the doubt after seeing all these nasty reviews because let's face it (They're cheap!) they trick you into believing that you're actually saving money, when in reality you're just spending more and more. We're pretty food on keeping lights off Ana using the washer and dishwater after 5 to save money and blah blah. But I just received a nasty alert about overages that I had no idea of! They will blow your phone up with texts about their events, but neglected to call, text, le stop by my door to tell me something was faulty on my account and now I owe $271 the week before rent is due !
