Hi, Loading...

Feb 2018: I love the location of the complex, the bathroom and closet are spacious, the clubhouse is really nice and the office/maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful. However, walls are thin, parking (visitors or residential) parking can be a hassle, and the new management is not great at all. Before the new management, I would have rated more stars, probably 4. Review from Google
Jan 2018: LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE. There is nothing stellar at Varsity House to set it aside from other complexes. For reasons I’ll explain below, your living experience could end up with you being slightly irritated 24/7 for a year. I would have rated this complex 4 stars a few months ago. After the new staff came in, the complex has been on a steady decline. I’d venture to say that most of the 4 or 5 star reviews you find are because the complex gives residents free food to leave reviews. I know several people living in the complex and all of them have the same experience. Here’s a list of some of the things you can expect: - Broken doors: The doors that lead into the buildings break all the time and they rarely get fixed. This is a security issue because ANYONE can enter the buildings. One building had no handles on the doors (and still has non Review from Google
Jan 2018: Lived here for two years. Overall, a really average experience. Convenient location, decent price, good-sized rooms, nice employees and staff. The amentities are fine but I don’t use anything but the gym ever. Has its faults though, parking can be a pain if you aren’t a resident lucky enough to get a spot near your building. Maintence will come fix things but you have to ask multiple times, and it’s often a quick fix rather than a long term solution (my fridge has broken at least 5 times while I’ve been here). Walls are thin, and your neighbors can be loud and disrespectful of the property (leaving trash, dog poop, etc. sitting around), but that’s typical of student housing. However, in the last month or so, things seem to have been on the decline. The electronic key system doesn’t let me open everything it’s supposed to despit Review from Google
Jan 2018: The wooden chairs and some of the other furniture is cheap and breaks very easily. But I haven't had any major problems with management. It's also very noisy if you live in the building closest to the construction that is going on nearby. But if you live on the opposite side, or move in after construction ends that shouldn't be a problem. Review from Google
Jan 2018: Really nice apartments for the rate that you pay, management is always courteous and helpful and the amenities are great. Many fun events are hosted throughout the year, and living here is a great experience. Review from Google
Jan 2018: Varsity house is a great student apartment that always has events going on and things to do. Although varsity house is still getting up to date on new management, they are always swift in repairs and find a solution to your problem. They are available when you need. Overall, varsity house is a decent price with good amenities. Review from Google
Dec 2017: I personally like living here. Rooms are nice, and so is staff. This apartment complex is pretty close to campus and offers two really great bus routes. My only complaint is that the walls are pretty thin. Review from Google
Dec 2017: Pros: The office, the office staff, maintenance staff are great. They're all very friendly and honestly helpful. The rooms themselves are pretty nice too! There's a good little fitness center that works in a pinch, and the pool is nice. I also love studying in the coffee/cafe area, and the computer rooms, and lounge. The location relative to shopping centers, UF, the gym, and the two museums is something I really enjoy. Cons: However, my two big complaints are with the bad parking and the cardboard-thin walls. You'd better get a lease early if you want a parking space in the garage, otherwise you'll have to park in the UF lot that's a few minutes walk away. There is very limited guest parking too, so they'll have to park in the UF lot too. So either have visitors on a day when parking on UF is lifted- each day after 4:30, or the weekend Review from Google

Nov 2017: The actual apartment is great! I only wish that the parking situation could be fixed, it has been a problem for the residents here for a few years now, it would be beneficial if we could get some more parking options for our guests the problem would be solved. Other than that I am satisfied with the price and location of the apartment. Review from Google
Nov 2017: Really not the best place around. Management has improved but is still growing. Parking is super inconvenient especially when there is a football game so I was forced to park all the way at SW Rec parking because I do not have one of their decals. Sometimes I would have to carry really heavy items too. It is also really hard to have guests come over sometimes since the only guest parking is the UF lot after 3:30 PM. Towing is insane, both my girlfriend and I had our cars towed one time only because we parked for 10 minutes just to drop something off and pick up stuff from my apartment. Walls are thin as well so I would often times hear footsteps or loud noises around my apartment unit. Overall, just many inconveniences that are frustrating. These are my experiences so far and it has only been a few months into my lease. Every apartment comp Review from Google
Nov 2017: The monthly charge of electricity is over 30 bucks?! Plus they have a 25 dollar allowance.. but they won’t show me about it. And they add a insurance fee to the apartment, which was not mentioned when I signed the contract. They were responsible for telling me about it when I signed the contract. Feel disappointed. Oct 2017: Great experience! The staff is very helpful and friendly. The study areas are great. Review from Google
Oct 2017: Great place to live close to campus and archer. Management is good and effective in the apartaments I just think that they need to clean and repair the carpets on the hallways because I just smeel old. But appart from that is jusr great. Review from Google
Sep 2017: Apartment is furnished with modern furniture and good appliances. Rent is affordable and the location is convenient, as the complex is situated between two bus stops. Staff and management are incredible. Property manager, Andrew Prieto, is reliable and dedicated to helping the residents. 5/5 Review from Google
Aug 2017: Some minor problems going on with the varsity house. Like the internet and the mail box assignment. Except for that, everything is fine with this community. Quite and a really good place to stay in Gainesville. Review from Google
Aug 2017: Most student living is the same, it's basically picking your poison at this point. I lived at VH for a year and it's kinda what you'd expect for housing that targets undergraduates. The halls were often dirty, people left their trash everywhere, and the walls are very thin. Insects became a problem at one point too, but fortunately they were not overwhelming. As for management, I enjoyed everyone as a person and they're all awesome! However, I think it is a bit disjointed. The largest issue that I had with them was that their pool house/pump house whatever you wanna called it burnt down and it took them well over 7 months for them to even begin to work on repairing it. For several months the pool was bright green. Parking is an absolute nightmare here. People get towed all the time and chances are if you're going to move in here you'll have Review from Google
Mar 2017: I'd give zero stars if I could. I've had nothing but problems with both the apartment and the management. Management decided to move a new tenant into the apartment in the middle of the semester, didn't notify me at all so it was to my surprise when I woke up in the middle of the night to a new tenant, her boyfriend, and dog moving in. GPD had to get involved after the boyfriend got in my face and told me it was not my right to ask to see their lease, and when I asked the office about it in the morning, management told me that they had the right to deny me legal documentation (the lease) despite the fact they were moving in at 1AM in the morning. Feb 2017: If you plan on bringing your car, you better sign your lease fast because apparently it's first come first serve to get a pass in the parking garage. I didn't know that I couldn't park on the property until move in day, and had to pay $160 for a UF parking decal for the whole year. Luckily it's right behind the building, but if I had heavy groceries, I would have to park in the parking garage and take the elevator with the feeling that someone is going to tow my car by the time I get back (which has happened). The staff is great, but I just wish that they could fix that issue. Review from 2/15/17 on Google
Jan 2017: I have nothing but problems with this place. Management is rude. My apartment was infested with German roaches. The walls are so thin so you hear everything. They do not fix anything. There has been spray paint of inappropriate words in the staircase for over a year and a half, and they can't fix this. On top of all this, there is no parking so it is hard to have guests over. I would advise everyone to not live here. Review from 1/13/17 on Google
Dec 2016: DO NOT LIVE HERE. It has been one disappointment after another. The apartment I was originally supposed to live in was infested with roaches. They weren't going to move me until my mother screamed at the guy running the front desk. None of the doors on the premises work, they are all unlocked for anyone to enter the hallways. There is not enough parking for everyone, and absolutely no visitor parking. They told people last year that they would have guaranteed parking and then told them when they moved in that they weren't on the parking list. There have been floods on the first floor and maintenance did not reach them until everything was already ruined. My roommate was stuck in the elevator, which does not even have the required paperwork, for 45 minutes until the fire truck showed up. Review from 12/23/16 on Google
Dec 2016: Our daughter has lived in these apartments for two years and it is a great deal. I know that the current staff is having to deal with a lot of parking issues that they inherited and I know this because we had one. Andrew was super helpful in resolving this for us. His staff has been great with answering any questions or issues that have come up. You are doing a great job and are much appreciated. Review from 12/7/16 on Google
