Jun 2017: I've lived here for 2 years. A lot of the complaints on here are people that don't bother to read their lease. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The upgrades since the name change make living here so much better. Review from 6/2/17 on Google
May 2017: DO NOT LIVE HERE!! I moved here for the cheap rent and was constantly being charged overage fees on the electric and random fees. I attempted on several occasions FOR A YEAR to get out of my lease by contacting the office, only when I found a person to sublease for me and she had moved in did they inform me that I had to pay a sublet fee that was 85% of my monthly rent. Although the staff is kind I am completely outraged by this and find it completely unacceptable that I was given no information or informed that I would be charged like that. Review from 5/26/17 on Google
May 2017: I've lived in 3 different apartments in Lubbock. This is by far the worst place I've been. They constantly cheat you out of money the whole time you live there. All of the workers and managers are rude. And upon move out they lie and scam you for your money with false charges. I've never met any residents who enjoyed this complex. Do not live here. Review from 5/13/17 on Google
May 2017: Please do not live here. Save yourself the trouble of living in a loud, bug-infested, and poorly constructed apartment where they blame you for every wall blemish and carpet stain. I lived here for one year and it was the worst place I will ever live unless my life really takes a turn for the worst. The manager is the worst and she has a reputation for it. I wish I had been smarter and read more reviews before I signed the lease. Also I know for a fact that most of the 5 star reviews come from people who work in the office so do not be fooled. May 2017: The complex offers a brand new clubhouse with several amenities available 24/7 like: a brand new fitness center with 2 fitness on demand rooms, a war room that has 8 tvs lined up, a Starbucks coffee bar, a business center with 6 available computers and free printing, and 2 study rooms. They also offer outside amenities like: a pool, basketball court, and sand volleyball court. In the apartment kitchen you will receive a stacked washer/dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, oven/stove, and a garbage disposal. In the apartment living room you will receive a couch, chair, coffee table, side table, and a smart tv. In the bed space you will receive a fully furnished space, full size bed, 2 small dressers, a small nightstand table, a desk, a chair and a walk in closet. You will also receive your own full size bathroom. Review from 5/6/17 Craigslist
Mar 2017: DO NOT LIVE HERE! My roommates and I have had a terrible experience with The Scarlet. We have experienced many problems, with most of them not being fixed. We had a roommate move out and were promised a list of things would be fixed (that her dog ruined) during the summer. When we got back nothing had been fixed and they claimed that there was no record of the apartments saying they would fix it. They completely remodeled the clubhouse, but can't seem to replace any of our broken appliances. We are always charged incorrectly and when we go into the office to speak to someone about it, they talk to you like you are an idiot. Review from 3/14/17 on Google
Mar 2017: LITERALLY HORRIBLE don't live here. I don't care how inexpensive it is compared to the surrounding apartments- you'll end up paying the difference in ridiculous utility charges that are NEVER correct. Here are just some of the things my roommates and I have encountered: 1. Our floors were seeping water and they brought in a FAN to dry it up-not actually fix it. 2. They changed our locks and didn't give us new keys and the office was about to close so had we been 5 minutes later, we would have been locked out for the weekend. 3. The outlets upstairs go out at least twice a month. 4. After we renewed, they tried to charge us the wrong renewal rate and they made it extremely difficult to change it to the correct rate. Review from 3/4/17 on Google
Nov 2016: Friendly and helpful staff. Maintenance is always quick and friendly to fix/replace things. The grounds are always well kept. Living here has provided me with the best college experience I could ask for. Review from 11/10/2016 on Google

Oct 2016: I love my townhouse, it's pretty tight for 609 month. Plus I think they fixed the internet cause I don't have problems with it. The only gripe I have is that the clubhouse is probably never gonna open at the rate the workers are going at it. But that's just me.Review from Facebook 10/2016
May 2016: This place is TERRIBLE. It's dirty. Spiders fall from the air units on the ceilings. We find beetles in our beds. The utilities are consistently breaking. The service is horrible and they do not do anything to help out if is an inconvenience to their lazy time. When their website goes down or has a maintenance issue, the office will fine you at least 30$ to re enter your credit card information. Never, will I ever, recommend any of my family or friends to waste their money on this low quality service and place. Beware, living close to campus is not worth this awful living situation. You have been warned. I only used my account to tell people NOT waste your time here. Review from 5/6/16 on Yelp
Apr 2016: I have lived here for 3 years now and have dealt with multiple changes in management. The first year was great, they were so helpful and kind to all residents, they really made it apparent that I chose the right place to live........The current company is extremely disorganized and rude to the paying residents of the community. don't live here if you expect to be able to go into the front office with any questions because they won't know the answer or be willing to find the answer for your questions. They have also billed us incorrectly multiple times for overages that we did not incur. They are raising rates but they aren't doing anything to improve living situations to make it worth more money. Definitely won't be living here again and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Review from 4/1/16 on Yelp
Jan 2016: So far University Fountains has been a great apartment complex to reside at. There have been some problems however such as the poisoning of birds and the failed attempts at fixing our washer every time it floods and breaks. Overall for what you get I feel for the most part satisfied. Review from 1/22/16 on Yelp
Dec 2013: The apartment rooms themselves are nice for the most part. I do have to complain about the manager though...she's a bit...snappy but I don't think she realizes how rude she comes off to people. Either that or she's just a flat out ____. If you catch what I'm saying. Brian is nice, but he always seem tired and exhausted (probably bc he has to put up with Miss wanna be Beyonce). Anyways, it's been noted a few times between my roommates and I about how much the main manager lies about things just to sound like she's on top of her work. She told us the pest control people came 2 weeks ago but then all of a sudden they show up at our door and when we ask them why they're back, they told us they hadn't even came before! As for maintenance, they say they will be over in an hour and then you realize it's like 3-4hrs later. Anonymous review from 12/13/2013 on Google
Sep 2013: I absolutely love this place! The rooms are awesome, the bathroom is nice, and the closet space is huge, not to mention, the pool, workout room, basketball court, etc. is nice too. Another thing, I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the staff. They are so nice, especially Jessica. She is very sweet and helpful and she even gave me a nice t-shirt. I think I will end up staying here another year! Anonymous review from 9/20/2013 on Google
Jul 2013: I have lived at University Fountains for almost two years now. I like the management here and everyone is so friendly. The great thing is that you get to know your neighbors and everyone kind of looks out for each other. I didn’t rush or anything, so it’s been nice to get to meet people through the resident events and at the pool. I would recommend it. Anonymous review from 7/13/2013 on Google
