Jul 2019: Decent place to live, especially if you're a Tech student moving from a long distance away (PA in my case). That being said, I would be very cautious with this apartment complex, as the place is not kept clean (dog poop everywhere, pools are often dirty and not kept care of) for the amount of money you would be paying to live here. The apartment complex estimates your last month of utilities based off of an average of your utility bills and expects you to pay them before your last month rent is due (essentially charging you for utilities that you haven't used yet).
I had a decent experience living here for needing somewhere accessible to campus while I learned my way around town, but be aware that there are much better places for much less money if finances are tight for you. Review from Google Jul 2019: I have lived at Raiders Walk for my last two years of school. Overall, I had a decent experience, but woke up today for my last month of rent due and my utilities are doubled in price...obviously this was extremely annoying and I have read lots of reviews about the complex charging you for everything when moving out, so I’m hoping this does not happen to me. The staff has been very nice to me for the past two years and there has been lots of renovations in the complex this year. Location is extremely close to campus which is great. My only complaints are the extra random fees that happen and that the complex can get dirty at times with the dumpster trucks, dog poop, and the lack of care in the pool. I hope they continue to do renovations to this complex because it has great potential with how close it is to campus. Review from Google Apr 2019: I have lived at raiders walk for a almost a year and have enjoyed it. I've read some of the reviews and people have stated their displeasure about cars being broken into, pet waste around the property, and that the pools are green. As a resident I can confirm that the property owners have taken steps to fix these problems, they had added better security and more lights to the parking lots. The property also has emailed the residents about the pet waste, and in regards to the pools I have only seen them green during the winter, but when it gets warm out the fix them. I have loved living here at raiders walk, it is close to campus, takes me about 10-15 mins to walk to class, and the free printing in the office is awesome. The community is always very quite and most of the members I have encountered are very friendly. I have had a resident bang on my door late at night claiming I was being loud even though I was laying in bed Review from Google Feb 2019: Great place to live. Free coffee In the offices everyday, good internet, the total amount for rent after bills is very good. Over all I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking. Review from Google Feb 2019: Cheap and best price near campus. Never had much to complain about maintenance wise. Only issue is internet can be very slow and have frequent drops during connection peak times. Review from Google Feb 2019: I have loved living at this apartment complex! It is a quiet community, with nice and friendly people. The people who work in the office are amazing, they will help you with anything and are great people to talk to. They often have free food for residents up in the front office, such as nachos, tacos, thanksgiving food, etc. They are very friendly and welcoming to everyone and will do their best to make you happy living here. There is a nice 24 hour gym, a pool, and they have free printing in the front office. Overall this has been a great place to live, for a great price. I would reccommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful place to live. Review from Google Jan 2019: I enjoyed living here for the past two years. The staff is great. It’s a nice quiet place. The 2 bedroom apartment is a great layout. Review from Google Dec 2018: 12/12/2018 update
So I’m updating My -4 starred- review to 3 since my Husband’s bike got stolen this month. It doesn’t feel safe any more here .
We live in the second floor so it’s kinda frightening to think of someone spying on you and knowing when you’re outta home to take your bike!
We informed the office and they said there were no cameras showing our apt and advices us to call the police .
____________
would’ve given 5 stars but the missing star is for it’s a pet-friendly apartment n residents don’t often clean after their pets 🤦ðŸ»â€â™€ï¸ so whenever it rains you just smell ... stuff. 🤷ðŸ»â€â™€ï¸
Another point is if you’re a family (with kids) you shall consider taking bottom floor since the wooden walls and floors are not masking sounds/noises enough, so having your kid running in the apt (which is norma Review from Google Dec 2018: This is a good option to walk to class. Low key. Maintenance guy was great but I had some paperwork issues at first. I wish it were a little cheaper but overall I like it. Review from Google Sep 2018: This was, without a doubt, the most horrendous living situation I have ever encountered. First of all, the rent is outrageous! Also, from literal day one until I moved out, I had a constant and never ending cockroach infestation. The roaches were everywhere; I probably dealt with no fewer than 300 roaches while I lived there. Some were HUGE (size of my pinky finger), some left brown residue behind when I tried to sweep them up, a lot were ALIVE. No matter what was done, or how many times they "sprayed" my unit, nothing worked. ALSO: about a year after I moved in I was complaining yet again about the roaches, so they sent maintenance over to look behind my oven. Underneath was no less than 50 dead roaches that had built up over who knows how long. That visual still makes me want to vomit. While the office staff were nice enough, there was a high Review from Google Aug 2018: This place is utter garbage. I moved in on 8/8/18 and as of 8/29/18 I still have no hot water despite going to the front office 4 times. That is just the tip of the iceberg. On move in day my apartment was not ready and made me wait hours for them to clean it because they forgot I was moving in, even though I called a week before confirming my move in date. I had to sit in my car with my mattress and everything strapped to the top on a burning hot day. Then they told me my refrigerator was broken so I couldn't use that for a few days until maintenance came and fixed it. Once they fixed it, it started making this obscenely loud noise. I had to google how to fix the noise which required me to unplug my refrigerator, unscrew the fan in the back, adjust it, and put everything back together. Every time I go to the front office they say they'll text Review from Google Jul 2018: Lived hear for my last year in a single and loved being able to walk to class. Lots of grad students probably because it's not expensive for a decent single bedroom apartment. Fairly quiet neighborhood and had several friends that lived at RW and next door at 25Twenty. Only real problem was they blocked my parking spot while fixing parking lot for a week. They should have told me. Review from Google Jun 2018: Save yourself a ton of money and trouble. Do not live here. Dont even think about it. The past two years here have been riddled with issues. From trying to charge me for black mold in an apartment. To being okay with having a puddle of human sewage, and toilet paper outside one of its buildings.
For the first year I lived here 90% of the vending machines were broken and had nothing in them.
The gym is an outright joke. Your paying twice as much as you should for what you get. Review from Google May 2018: DONT LIVE HERE.
This place is the worst apartment in Lubbock. It is expensive, the apartment managers and staff is totally a mess. My washer has been down for weeks. And all they say is tommorrow and the day after. Then nobody shows up. When you call them they will say they forgot about the date. Review from Google Apr 2018: Also, dog poop everywhere!! Pools are nasty! My car AND my boyfriends have been broken into. HUGE ROACHES ON COUNTERS AND IN BATHTUB. THIS PLACE IS GROSS!! Apr 2018: DO NOT live here. Absolutely INFESTED with huge roaches. My apt has been sprayed multiple times and nothing helps. Roaches are everywhere, my counter tops, bathtub...everywhere! Rent is ridiculously high. Lots of other places. DONT DO IT!!!!! Its disgusting. Constant mgmt turnover and complete ineptitude. Apr 2018: Cockroaches in my building coming out of the drain, and from the ceiling vent in Apt 209B. no security personel whatsoever. Management does not care about residents safety nor rodents in the building. They only offer to spray which dosen’t help. The only thing on the complex mind is money. Review from Google Jan 2018: The staff is very friendly and the location is great. Can make it to class in 15 minutes. Review from Google Jan 2018: I enjoy living here, I don't have to walk so far to school and there is a bus here for me. There free printing which is amazing! Review from Google Jan 2018: Best deal for a apartment close to TTU campus. They really take good care of you. Review from Google Sep 2017: Honestly this place sucks. They change management like every month and no one knows anything at all. While the people there can be nice, they aren't helpful in the slightest Review from Google Jul 2017: Summary of complaints and why you don't want to live here: - tons of rats - persistent roaches - thieves breaking into your car at least twice a month, even with it locked - full of drug dealers and people who smoke weed - dog poop and bird poop EVERYWHERE - sad excuse for a "2 story" work out facility - tiny pools that are rarely clean - poor management I've lived at Raider's Walk for 3 years. Not because the service is amazing, but because they're the cheapest apartments. The management team always seemed over-worked so I would look past these horrible things and remind myself... the price. But now I realized that what a mistake that was. I've always compromised to their mistakes but the moment, I ask them to work with me, they REFUSED. I'm currently living in LA and literally have no means or money to get back to Lubbock before my move-out time, so I needed a f Mar 2017: I have lived here for 2 years, and I have no idea why people are giving Raiders Walk bad reviews. The staff is helpful, and maintenance is great. The apartments are pretty nice and the bedrooms are large (there are walk in closets), and the rent is similar if not cheaper to other, less nice apartment complexes in the area. My friend pays $625 to live with 3 other people at another complex, and here it is $585 for 1 roommate. The apartments have really large windows which is nice when you want to let some sunshine in. It's also a short walk to campus, which is good if you are like me and don't have a car. I have had a few maintenance issues, and they have been repaired quickly. The maintenance staff cares about helping out and doing the best job they can. They also are starting a new program so that the residents will HAVE TO clean up after thei Review from Google Jan 2017: i have never experienced worse internet in my life. this complex uses a blanket WiFi system. there is no wired internet. yeah you read that right, NO WIRED INTERNET. so if you have a desktop your screwed and have to use a WiFi card. on top of that there are no boxes in your individual apartment so signal is terrible and spotty as hell. I dont understand how anybody with a functioning brain could've thought that a blanket WiFi was a good idea. the lack of thought is stunning.
the gym is an absolute joke. half of the equipment is broken or stolen.
For 600 a month this place is a huge ripoff. DO NOT WASTE THE MONEY.
Review from 1/16/17 on Google Nov 2016: Office staff was very nice and helpful and the apartments are super close to campus. Those are the only 2 good things about this dump. When I moved in, the apartment was disgusting. Stains, damages and even evidence of mice were apparent. I was left with a ridiculous balance after move out even though I provided approximately 20 photos the day I moved in. I am beyond disgusted with this company. They don't care about you once you move out. Expect charges no matter what. I am more than happy to provide anyone with photos if you are considering moving in. Review from Google
