Apr 2020: The ladies in the office are nice, one maintenance man was very polite and respectful however the one who came the last few times talked to me like i knew nothing because i was a woman we still have a leak in our bathroom with mold growing my kids room after they left a huge hole with obvious mold which made my child sick..it took a week and a complaint to get it sealed but wasnt cleaned he left a huge mess and we had to pay over a hundred dollars exfra because we had to pay on the sixth due to hard times because of this corona virus... This complex could be nice but all weve been having are problems with no solutions Jun 2019: Don’t believe every bad comment you read on this complex. Autumn chase was a great laid back complex. Review from Google Apr 2019: My daughter's been here almost 3 yrs now and we LOVE it! Great 2 story apt for a great price!! Review from Google Mar 2019: The most sweetest people work at autumn Chase. My husband and I just relocated to TX and we drove at least 2,000 miles to get here. It was extremely stressful and exhausting .We were supposed to arrive on time to pick up our key and etc., but when we arrived to TX traffic was obnoxiously time consuming. Autumn Chase office closes at 5PM and traffic delayed us at least 2 hours behind . Autumn Chase associates are caring and understanding. Even after closing hours they look out for their tenants. Long story short due to a particular person we were able to get our keys and get settled in our own home. We are very grateful and thankful to be tenants of autumn Chase. Feb 2019: Sounds like all of us have the same opinion. Managment is all over the place. No consistency. Each one will tell you something different. The townhomes are decent, but not for the price. The biggest issue here is the front office. Everyone has sour faces, rude, rolls eyes, thinks everything you say is a lie. They charge you both arms and legs when you move out. Make you pay the whole months water and trash, even if you move out 6 days into the month. Im so glad we got out of this place. Fix the managment team, and this place wouldnt be so bad. The maintenance men are very friendly and poliet. Always said good morning and waves each time we cross paths. But the manager will just drive around in their little carts and just glare at you like you're up to no good. Feb 2019: Newly renovated, and it looks so nice. Vast improvement from before. Review from Google Feb 2019: I can't believe this place is still standing. The office staff alone calls for a report to the Better Business Bureau. The manager assumes everyone is lying about any kind of maintenance issue. Someone tried to break into our apartment and damaged the door in the process and she accused us of lying. She told me that I did the damage by slamming the door. Really????? The whole place is infested with mice and it floods everytime it rains. Avoid this place at all cost. It is not worth the low price to be miserable with all the mice in San Marcos. DO NOT LIVE HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT. To the management that I'm sure will reply with, "this is not the typical experience" I will gladly break it to you, IT IS THE TYPICAL EXPERIENCE. The fact that this is even your reply, is proof enough y'all are crooks and do not care about your tenants. BEWARE OF TH Review from Google Dec 2018: Where should I start? At first the office staff was really nice and helpful, but after we signed they were horrible! I would walk into the office and everyone stares at me like I'm stupid, they don't approach you nor ask you how they can help. If you are planning on moving here don't! So here's another story, we have never had a problem with rent before. Until someone literally tried to steal our money order. Here's what happened. My roommate and I went to deposit our money order into the little hatch thing, and we did it about 5 days before rent was due. The day after rent was due I noticed a little note on our door. The note claimed we didn't turn in our rent and that we will have to pay a fine for each day it was late. Now the rent here isn't bad if you're a college student, but no one has another $1100 lying around. My roommate and I freaked out, we went to th Dec 2018: This place isn’t bad, but people leave trash and poop everywhere. The staff isn’t very helpful and keep charging me random charges without telling me. The rent is too much for the quality. And almost 2 times a month they need to enter my apartment for inspections. There’s constantly problems here. The parking lots are also awful. Walls are paper hun. I can hear my neighbors walking upstairs next door. Review from Google Oct 2018: I lived here for 2 years and recently moved out. I give Autumn Chase 2 stars because it is a very average community. The benefits of living here are that if you are a Texas State student you are very close to campus and are right next to a bus stop to get you to campus. The maintenance staff (Juan) is great and they do their best to fix any problems you may have and are polite and efficient. There is no reserved parking so there is always plenty of spaces for you and your friends. I never had to fight for a parking space. The apartments themselves are fine. Nothing special about them. I could rarely hear my neighbors so that was a plus. The negatives of living here are the office staff, at times, can be rude and can seem unfamiliar with their job and duties of their job. Our washing machine broke multiple times while living here and at one po Review from Google Sep 2018: Edit: Lol my application was actually approved. The people here are just that bad. And for more recent information, a couple of my friends were planning on living here was well and steered away for another complex for the same reasons.
It's funny to see the reviews echo my feelings about this place;my experience was back in 2014. I came to read the reviews to see if things have changed, but I guess not. Office staff is SO rude and either don't know what their job is, or really couldn't care less. Back when I put in an application, I came to their office the first time and about 4 people just stared at me. I had to announce myself to the room and what I needed because no one bothered to say anything. Every experience was the same and they never offered any update on my and roommates application so we were constantly calling. Every experience was the same and they never offered any update on my and roommates application so we were constantly calling. Finally I said keep our app fees, I wouldn't live here. This is almost FOUR years ago and this is still my memory of this place. To the staff replying to the comments, that IS the typical experience. Review from Google May 2018: The apartments are nice, but slightly over priced due the outside areas not being kept well. No one picks up their dog poop even though the office gives out free dog bags. The office also doesn't enforce anyone to pick up after themselves. The volley ball court, pool chairs, and fencing is all run down and falling a part. The office staff is friendly, but does not enforce community cleanliness. However, there is room for improvement if they address these issues listed above. Review from Google Apr 2018: I have lived here for almost a year, and plan to renew my leasing contract this summer. These guys really bended over backwards for me during the application process; the maintenance and staff here are very responsive and treat everything with urgency. I've never had an issue with parking (which was often a huge inconvenience in my 10+ years of renting), the community is quiet, they are located along the bus route, and the apartments are in good shape for their age.
I only have one complaint: water can seep in some of the units during periods of heavy rain (which isn't anything a good towel collection can't take care of). My suggestion to prospective renters would be to take out a cheap renter's insurance plan, and/or keep valuables up off the floor. Review from Google Mar 2018: Been here 2.5 years. The buildings are older, but the maintenance crew is stellar!!! The office staff is freindly and effective. 10/10 would move here again. Review from Google Mar 2018: Thank you so much, I really enjoy leasing & meeting new prospective residents/friends! I sincerely appreciate your positive feedback ;) Mar 2018: No complaints really living here but the move in/out was a complete horrible experience i moved in and there was tools and trash when we walked in being optimistic we threw away the trash and called the office to come pick the tools which they did, the carpet was dirty and we made note of it in the move in paper. our stay was uneventful and calm which is why i give them 2 stars but at move out we were charged a cleaning fee and unauthorized pet fee?! I had noted that the carpet was really dirty when i moved in!!! We are really clean people and didn’t even wear shoes up stairs! Not to mention 2 out of the 3 people that live in the apartment are extremely allergic to cats and dogs which is why we would never have pets we expressed this to the manager who sent us and invoice and they pretty much called us liars and said we had to pay either way Review from Google Mar 2018: Very nice and friendly leasing staff, Karen was very helpful while I was in the office. Review from Google Dec 2017: I lived at this property about a year ago, and I really had no complaints. It’s small community, and the staff was nice and friendly. I did have a few issues with bugs here and there, but if you asked for pest control they did make sure to have it scheduled for you. Community was quiet, and I didn’t have any issues with my neighbors. I definitely recommend living here especially if you’re a college student looking for a place to live, because they are quite affordable. Review from Google Nov 2017: The worst office people ever. Do not go here and waste your time. I've never experienced worse customer service in my life. I had to pry that crude woman out of her seat to give me a tour and she acted like doing her job was a HUGE problem Review from Google Oct 2017: Could potentially be a great place to live but I would never take the chance purely based off of the office staff. I have NEVER came across people so rude in a guest facing position. Would not recommend this place at all. Review from Google Aug 2017: I toured and immediately fell in love with the cute cozy feel these apartments have and they are not a student complex which is what I was looking for. Angelica guided me through every step of the application process and provided great customer service, all of the staff is friendly and willing to help even when she was out of the office. Unfortunately, I was unable to move in so I cannot give a full 5 stars because I never actually got to live there but I'm sure i would be very happy. Review from Google Jul 2017: I assume if their office staff is this rude when a prospective renter walks in, it'll be worse once I sign a contract. I went Monday. A woman with a high bun and heavy eyeliner, stayed seated and seemed annoyed to be bothered. She threw a brochure on the table, quickly ran down ONLY the requirements to live there.
I looked up from the brochure, confused that that's all she had and she snapped: "So, do you want to look at the apartment?"
She seemed equally annoyed to have to get up. didn't explain the amenities, didn't sell the apartment. Essentially, just let me in and told me what I would be responsible for.
Maybe you shouldn't pick a job that requires you to work with people...Especially not in the south, where that attitude is generally not acceptable. Are you one of the misplaced Californians, I wonder? Review from Google
