Additional Reviews
Dec 2017: Moved into here after the end of a bad relationship, never had any issues myself but heard of other reviews with issues with the previous property manager.
Wanted to leave a review to make sure anyone considering VG knows that the new property manager, Brandon Brown, has completely turned everything around. Previous lack of communication was the main issue with the other property manager, but Brandon is sure to leave updates in email, text updates, and nice friendly notes on the doors and around the complex. Free Food Friday’s have been revamped and keep the complex lively. Addition of a dog park and other amenities have made it a great place to live.
Anytime I needed maintenance it was handled in a timely manner, and I was able to have my issues fixed in a matter of hours. There’s a 24 hour maintenance emergency line that’s come in Review from Google Dec 2017: I have lived at this property for two years. I would never recommend moving here. It’s a lot of false adversting... they say they Roomate match when you move in , but they actually don’t. They will move a Roomate in who hates you and tries to fight you in your own apartment. Conflict on a daily Baises. They have leasing specialist in the leasing office providing inaccurate information in order to bamboosle people into renewing leases so they can keep their numbers up with cooperate. They won’t own up or fix any mistakes THEIR employees make. Since living here for two years I have given them over 15,000 dollars , only for the first time I have an issue and need their assistance , they leave me high and dry . I will NEVER LIVE HERE AGAIN ! & I WILL NEVER LET ANYONE I KNOW , LIVE HERE EITHER . Review from Google Dec 2017: They do not tell you about hidden fee's , they just hit you with them. TRASH IS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!! My boyfriends car got broken into. It's not worth it. DO NOT STAY HERE Review from Google Nov 2017: Village Green is wonderful place to lease. I myself have lived here for almost half a year and love it. I love the staff and how helpful they are. The gym is great. The Keurig station is a great. I am super ecstatic about pool usage during the summer as well. Review from Google Aug 2017: The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and were willing to take extra steps to make move-in go smoothly. They answered all of my questions and solved any maintenance problems that I had within the first 24 hours of move in. The apartments themselves are very nice, and the pool and gym are great for the community. The neighbors are all friendly and really seem like they want to get to know each other. I have just moved in but I am expecting to have a great year here! Review from Google Jun 2017: The rooms are so big and spacious! 1000 better than living on campus! Jun 2017: The staff is super helpful and clear with explaining about things. They sat down with me and went through the lease and everything! I really feel at home and cared about at Village Green! Jun 2017: best place to live it Raleigh! May 2017: Lived here four years and loved every minute1 Great value apartment complex! May 2017: Due to the new staff led by XXXX, things are being accomplished at an alarming rate. The new staff is very helpful and easy to work with. The maintenance orders are finally starting to be completed in a timely manner as well as the gates being fixed and a new, professional look in the clubhouse. Things have drastically improved since the arrival of new management.
Review from 5/14/17 on Google May 2017: I have lived here for the past year and my experience has been a great one. I had a small miscommunication issue due to the transition of property managers but XXXX was very plesant and was able to guide me in the right direction. She's made a lot of necessary improvements and have big plans for even better improvements. My only request... please bring back "Free Food Friday's" thank you! Lol
Review from 5/9/17 on Google Apr 2017: I have been living at VG Apartments for 7 months now and have to say it is the best place to live for a reasonable price hands down! Spacious apartments, nice furniture included, maintenance works quickly and efficiently plus the amenities are great. My only complaint would be that the shuttle bus is sometimes a pain since it breaks down quite a bit. If you can look past this inconvenience, Village Green is a great place to live! I have renewed my lease for next year as well.
Review from 4/9/17 on Google Apr 2017: Close to campus, affordable, great community, friendly staff. Oh and Free Food every Friday! What more could I possibly ask for? Apr 2017: My son has lived here since August, and it has been a good experience for him. I cannot say enough about the office staff, they are very professional and courteous, I highly recommend this property.
Review from 4/1/17 on Google Apr 2017: Village Green is BY FAR my favorite place to live in Raleigh! The pool is AMAZING (can't wait until it opens in April), the staff is super friendly and helpful, maintance is always quick to take care of the maintance requests, and they have the best grounds and amenities. They already have a tanning bed, newly upgraded computer lab open 24/7, 24 hour gym, and free coffee/tea every day in the clubhouse, but I heard that soon they are even getting a dog park! They also do Free Food Friday every week which is perfect! I can't recommend Village Green enough. Oct 2016: They stoled my security deposit because the carpet just needs some cleaning. They told me we changed it and they should just clean it or let me clean it. They are so bad.
Review from 10/14/16 on Apartment Ratings Sep 2016: Village green has the absolute worst service I have ever received. They overcharged me TWICE in my rent and I have been moved out for two months now and I still haven't gotten my money back yet. During the time that this happened they assured me and insisted that I would get my money back and that they didn't need to send me an email for my own documentation. Two months later I haven't gotten my money back and "they don't know that I am talking about" because I don't have any "proof" that they owe me money (besides the fact that they can go back and look and see how much they overcharged me).
Review from 9/14/16 on Apartment Ratings Jan 2016: My overall experience at Village Green has been fair. The new management team and office staff have exceptional customer service especially from the changed over the summer to now. They have changed my overall view of Village Green. Far as the apartment goes, I mean you pay for what you get. The prices to stay here is by far one of the most affordable priced apartments that comes furnished and that is located near NC State campus. Not to mention you can save gas by riding the Village Green bus. The bus driver will make your bus riding experience a ride to remember. Review from 1/10/16 on Google Oct 2015: Village green is an okay place to live. Rooms are spacious as well as the living rooms. Kitchen and washing machines could be a bit updated however. Maintenance is pretty good but Bill is the best maintenance associate! Super friendly and always willing to help out! Internet for the most part works pretty good with occasional disconnections that last a few minutes or so. Living on the bottom floor is not fun however. You can hear the upstairs neighbors stomping.
Review from 10/20/2015 on Apartment Ratings Jul 2015: You are better off living at NC State housing than in village green. The management team is nice at first, but as soon as you have a dispute it will all go downhill and you will realize what you are dealing with. They are incompetent, never take your side, NEVER give you any of your paperwork so keep copies of EVERYTHING because they will try to screw you if they can.
Review from 7/23/2015 on Apartment Ratings Apr 2015: I am only able to speak on behalf of the management team, as I have only signed my lease to move in and have not actually lived there yet. However, with that being said, the management team is amazing! They have been nothing but helpful during my application process. I worked with Emily, and she was always willing to help me- she even answered my emails at 11 pm! You can tell that they really care about their residents and want them to have the best experience possible. I look forward to living at Village Green!
Review on 4/8/2015 on Apartment Ratings Dec 2014: I have lived in three separate student communities and all are similar. Although what separates Village Green from the rest is the customer service. I have never had a problem with the staff and appreciate all they have done for me. They have a "Yes we Can" attitude and always try to help out. I was sick and the staff brought me soup and crackers to cheer me up. I have read many of the reviews about unhappy experiences regarding services and fees. I have had many friends move out and never have heard negative things from them about move out fees and charges. I have even overheard Linda and Melissa work with students regarding move out fees while I was in the office getting coffee.
Review from 12/02/14 on Apartment Ratings Nov 2014: On the front end, they are friendly and accommodating. When you move out, you will be surprised by the fees they charge. It is their modus operandi. I don't know much of a way to avoid the charges or defend against them since they are unwilling to respond to phone messages or emails. My charges were around $260 for everything from a light bulb they claimed had burned out ($10) to oily spots on the wall, which is rather ridiculous since they paint every vacated apartment. The initial letter implies that you might discuss these charges, but no one responds. The next contact is the letter stating that you'll be turned over to a collection agency. I have rented at several places in Raleigh and this is the only one that has trumped up cleaning and damages fees.
Review from 11/24/14 on Apartment Ratings Mar 2014: I moved in August of 2013 and the leasing officer was incredible. I moved from a few hours away so she did everything to accommodate my commute and situation. She helped me find a job and make sure I had a smooth transition. The management and leasing staff are AWESOME and beyond friendly. I have no problems with my neighbors or roommates and parking has only been an issue twice in one week, otherwise it has been great and i get my favorite spots. Village Green is about 6 minutes from Centennial Campus and downtown so everything is convenient. It is 15 minutes from Wake Tech which I do not mind. Everything is within close proximity, including Harris Teeter, theaaters, nail salons, parks, etc. I LOVE IT!
Review from 3/20/2014 on Apartment Ratings Oct 2013: This is my second year living in Village Green and I love it! I live in a four bedroom apartment and each of us have our own bathroom. The living area is large and they've recently remodeled (new couches, wood flooring, light fixtures, and flatscreen tv's). The facility itself is nice especially the pool and the volleyball/basketball courts. The staff is always super friendly and willing to help! The apartment comes fully furnished (dresser, night stand, desk, and mini fridge) but no bed, which didn't bother me at all! The walk in closets are HUGE and AMAZING.. especially after comparing my closet to other "student living" apartment's closets.
