Jun 2019: So rundown. So loud. People screaming in the parking lots, always blasting music and letting their kids run around. Run down cars left in the parking lot. Trash was always cluttered. The bathroom was falling apart. Lived here 6 months and was glad to leave! Review from Google
May 2019: I would've given a 0 star rating if possible for a number of reasons. The washer/dryer combo broke, and it took more than 4 weeks to get it fixed. There are german cockroaches throughout the apartment. Paint falls off walls when using mildly sticky putty to put up posters. Apartment not properly insulated/sealed and with no dehumidifier, the apartment gets quite musty during the humid part of the year. Apartment not cleaned when moving in. Showers and kitchen area were unusable for 24 hours because they didn't get the work done before we moved in. The handrails in the apartment are not safe to use. Mailboxes are all but destroyed. They no longer lock, and are always open-ish. Electrical work seems to be a botched job, and not even close to being up to code (no outlet boxes within the walls for the ones we've had work on). Finally, if all the problems before weren't enough. There is some BLACK MOLD in the bathroom Review from Google

Mar 2019: Don’t move here unless you have access to great tenants rights lawyers! My husband got a job offer out of state, we asked if we could end our lease early and 3 points said no. We paid double rent for two months before realizing 3 points entered our apartment after we moved out (but still on lease paying rent) and started doing renovations and straight up stole whatever belongings we were still storing there. After almost a year of back and forth with Jade Clemons (a poor excuse for management) I received 40$ in retribution for the electric bills the crew left on in the apartment. Y’all, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone moved in after renovations and 3 points was making double rent off our apartment. This place is shady, they will literally steal your things. DO NOT. Review from Google
Mar 2019: It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of someone in the office. They are completely unreliable. don't want to pay bills but it's like pulling teeth to get a hold of anyone to do it. This place is disorganized and all over terrible service. Review from Google
Mar 2019: Dont be fooled by the online photos. This place is straight racthet!
Feb 2019: The Grove was our only option for our last 6 months in Raleigh. We originally lived in Gorman Crossings for 2 years (I highly recommend over this place- no pet restrictions, cheaper, great maintenance, AND less drama) but they wouldn't renew for a 6-month lease, so we had to move into the Grove. Once our move in date came, we paid the pro-rated rent and got our keys but not our mailbox keys. We had to wait "24 hrs" for those. The apartment was filthy. The floor under the kitchen sink was falling in, blinds and toilet broken. Things were a MESS. We went to the office and explained each issue, and that since we have kids we would wait until they did the repairs and cleaning to move in. After a few days, they finally started working on them. We went back to check in a day after the move-in date, and our house key didn't work! They were replacing the locks AGAIN. We had to go around in circles to get new keys Review from Google
Sep 2018: You get what you pay for. The staff are kind, but it becomes a facade for incompetence quickly after living here. I can't confirm whether they're making up excuses, or the company is actually chaotic enough to disrupt the basic requirements of support staff. Expect spotty service (including important facility notices), and don't trust Their promises. They need to be reminded. They likely don't have an answer to basic questions for weeks. Nonetheless, it's not the worst place to live, depending on your standards of living. I've had it way worse for more money. Review from Google

Sep 2018: I currently live here. Community is generally nice - not too loud, and neighbors are friendly. The time it takes for maintenance to coherently address problems is absolutely abysmal. One of the features that drew us to The Grove was how pet-friendly it is, and it's a shame that the quality of many of the features in our apartment so rarely meet the basic expectations of a livable space. We are currently waiting on a request (classified as an "emergency" by the answering machine that most frequently fields my calls, by the way) to fix an uncontrollable water leak from the AC unit which is seeping under the carpet in an adjacent room (which wouldn't happen if the tray designed to catch this water wasn't apparently cracked). This is not to mention two tries at replacing a garbage disposal, and several minor maintenance requests we put on our shee Review from Google
Aug 2018: Visited someone who lived here, and it was difficult to find as trees covered most of the signs, and visibility to entrance. The parking lot was really rough with pot holes. Pulling up it just looks rough, and not very pleasant at all. Review from Google
Jun 2018: Roaches, unprofessional and untrained office staff, and nosy neighbors. Don’t live here Review from Google
Jun 2018: After living here for two years I'm changing my review. I left the original underneath. CONS: -My garbage disposal has not worked since I have moved in. They did get an outside plumber in here once when black water started coming up out of the drain. -THE MOLD. Mold grows on my window sills. Mold is growing under my kitchen window, i can see it through the tiles by the window to under the sink. Mold is growing around the bathroom fan. This fan is a lie, it's a straight hole to the outside. My AC has been moldy since spring. I called them to let them know and the newest maintenance guy showed up and told me there is no way mold can grow in the coils/ducts. It makes a crazy sound when it turns on and the smell is terrible. -The doors on my apartment are not the correct size, and do not seal. When I showed them, they just put foam strip Review from Google
May 2018: Apartments are small but adequate. The landscaping could use some attention. Review from Google
Nov 2017: Me and my girlfriend were shown an apartment at a newly renovated property downtown. We agreed this could be a good fit and made arrangements with the property manager Gabrielle to rent the property. She scheduled appointments to look at the unit again and would flat out not show up. Once we were able to get in touch with here we were told the apartment we were originally shown wasn't the unit we would be given, it would be another across the hall with a completely different layout. Fortunately we liked the other unit as well so we went with it. Those were the first of many issues. We were promised construction on the other units would only last another week or two after our move in date. It lasted almost two full months. Workers would be working over night super loud right outside of our window. There were multiple issues with the unit itself Review from Google
Sep 2017: This would've been a five star review but recently a situation happened that rubs the wrong way about how management (Melody) does business. I moved to this location in November of last year after I inquired if they accepted a twelve month up front payment to rent an apartment. I was ecstatic they said yes because most places prefer a monthly rent as opposed to someone just paying up front (which is so confusing to me but I digress). After signing paperwork of how much money was owed in order for me to move in and handing over my checks (a LARGE sum of money but I will not disclose the amount) I was okay'd to move in. Unfortunately I wound up moving to NYC in June and found a sublet to take over my lease. They approved the sublet, I paid the fee, and everything was doing great. That is, until, earlier this month (September) I get a message f Review from Google
Jun 2017: The leasing agents and most of the maintenance is quick to help. Deanna is always a pleasure. There's one maintenance guy who will tell you "it is what it is". As such my garbage disposal doesn't work, I have no outlet in the bathroom, and the tub doesn't drain. The neighbors are what will bother you the most. Screaming, throwing trash literally out of their doors into bushes, hitting your car, not picking up after their dogs, and the children ringing doorbells and running to list a few. The price is good, and they don't have breed restrictions. You even get fees waived if your pet is a rescue. The apartments are older, but they are doing a great job modernizing every thing. Apr 2017: The office staff are great!! The maintenance team are awesome!! I love my apartment!! Review from Google
Apr 2017: Although apartments are older, but the staff is great! I had good experience with them, if I planned to move from my current apartment, I will definitely move here again if the same staff be working. Review from Google
Jul 2014: First of all, the address on this site is wrong. I point this out so that anyone looking online for a place to live you need to avoid it if the address to the office is 3926 Marcom Street, not 39226. Anyway, this place is easy to get pulled into because it is one of the cheaper places out here. It's not just Sylvan Park, it is ANYTHING that is owned by The Tarheel Company. Stay away, stay FAR, FAR away!!! I am not exaggerating. There are cockroaches the size of mice, and ants, ants, ants, ants, ants, ants, ants, ants, ants, ants, ants, ants, and even more ants!!!! NOT A JOKE!!! They are coming in through the cabinets, behind the dishwasher, everywhere but where you think like windows and doors, they are coming from behind walls!
