Apr 2017: This place is absolutely horrendous. I would never want ANYONE to stay at this place. I have not only had bad experiences with the RUDE workers but have had multiple issues with spiders, BLACK MOLD, and overages in electricity that do not equate to the actual usage in the apartment. The people who work behind the desk continuously give attitude but yet want people to renew their lease for sub par service ? Completely unheard of. The community is "gated" but the gates never seem to work due to some bullshit excuse. The furniture is cheaply made and even the employees had said so themselves.
Review from 4/7/17 on Google Apr 2017: The Reserve is an awesome place to live. It has a super spacious bathroom and love the closet space! A great place for a college student!!!! :-)
Review from 4/3/17 on Google Jan 2017: They put things in the lease agreement that's not in there, and will take your security deposit. They are very crooked and unprofessional. Worse mistake ever was letting my son live there. We rented a professional carpet shampoo and was told the carpet had to be professionally cleaned, my son explained to them that the machine was a professional machine, then we asked to see the proper wording in the lease nothing is mentioned in the lease about shampooing the carpet or replacing drip pans in the stove. Make sure upon moving out that you check the lease agreement because they are saying do thing that don't have to be done.
Review from 1/2/17 on Google Apr 2016: The Community is nice and the staff are very helpful. The gate system and police officer give added security at night. So far so good. I enjoy living here.
Review from 4/18/16 on Google Mar 2016: Really in my opinion they don't deserve any stars. This place is a complete rip off! I've been bamboozoled. The list is endless, I would never recommend anyone stay here. At one point there was only ONE Maintence person for the entire complex and nothing every gets done in a timely fashion. They can be rude. The rent is ridiculous! The rooms are small, walls are too thin, bed is small, parking is ridiculous, trash is out of hand, we've had an incident where tenants were TERRIFIED for their lives because of incidents where randoms were banging on their doors and they slept with knives under their beds.
Review from 3/21/16 on Google Mar 2016: There should be a "no star" option. DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE. The lease has every clause and purpose to protect the company over the grove as well as staff but NO PROTECTION FOR RESIDENTS. All decisions addressed in the lease are up to the discretion of the property manager ( who does little to nothing), which means that if there is an issue and the manager chooses to not act, he or she is protected to do so. There have been multiple circumstances dealing with marijuana and there have been no actions taken to stop and or prevent the use on the property. I have literally had issues since day one of moving into the complex, it is now March of 2016, I moved into the complex in August of 2015. Review from 3/16/16 on Google. Sep 2015: There was a leaking issue in the apartment under mines and maintenance came up and asked me if I had any leaking coming from my bathroom and I told them no. Later that day a whole crew of people came and look at the pipes in my wall. They put two big whole in my wall and you could see the tub through it. Come to find out that my tub had been leaking and I didn't even know.
Review from 9/22/2015 on Google Jul 2015: The Grove was completely unorganized. I signed a lease with my roommate in March. They informed us both that they would have a shuttle to and from UNCG, as well as NCA&T, when we arrived on move in day they did not have one and misrepresented themselves and the amenities that would be provided. After months of making calls and getting the run around, The Grove informed everyone they would have a shuttle for the Fall. The management and staff do not always tell you the correct information. The rent is entirely too high compared to other campus living. They charge you for utilities, and don't tell you what utility you went over on (ie lights, water, etc.) but expect you to pay. Sometimes when you put in work orders, they do not do their best work and try to fix what is broken. Review from 7/14/2015 on Google Jul 2015: Decent living for undergrads, but very noisy. The walls are paper thin. I can hear conversations from any rooms adjacent to mine and can also hear all conversations from anyone who is outside at the grill or volleyball pit. I used financial aid to pay my rent in lump sum for an entire semester, but never received any notice or bill of utility overages. Thank goodness my roommate paid monthly or I most likely would have been receiving late fees for bills that I did not know existed. Review from 7/5/2015 on Google
