Aug 2017: In my time here I had to deal with bedbugs, cockroaches, and some type of tiny bugs that nobody ever bothered contacting me back and telling me what they were. They do no preventative spraying for bugs, and I was charged for exterminators. The apartments are old and shabby inside. Walls are thin and I could always hear my neighbors talking. Leasing office is aloof and rent is overpriced. don't bother with this place!
Review from 8/17/17 on Apartment Ratings Jul 2017: I lived in the Hickory Mills apartments for a few years. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I would recommend living here to other KSU students (or anyone wanting to live close to campus). However, like living anywhere, there are both pros and cons to living in the Hickory Mills apartments. I want to be as honest and fair as I can be with my review in an effort to help prospective future tenets. I'll make a list of pros and cons and be as thorough as I can. PROS: -You are very close to campus, and also right next to the bus route stop off of Summit street. -I personally found management to be very professional, although some are more competent than others.
Review from 7/20/17 on Apartment Ratings Aug 2016: I lived here for a year and although it became too expensive for me to stay, this place is pretty high quality. The AC and heat unit worked well to control the climate in my studio apartment. As I left, the management company was upgrading the siding and wifi--they really invest in the complex. Maintenance was always very responsive--always arriving within a day, even on weekends (if there was an emergency). Although I lived in a studio, there was a ton of storage space: built-in bookshelves, large closets/pantries, and attic storage. The staff was always helpful and courteous.
