(–) low/poor quality furnishings/finishes
(–) poor customer service by entry employees at leasing office Review from Google Apr 2018: Wonderful place to live, extremely clean, responsive, safe, with easy access to everything. My son has lived there for almost two years and it has been a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this place. Review from Google Feb 2018: We were here for about three month and we had no problems at all. We paid extra for a fully furnished apartment. This was a good stay and the people who ran it were very professional Review from Google Feb 2018: They are interested in you till you sign the lease. The management is out for your $$. One month the rent we paid well in advance was $4 less and they charged $170 late fee. I would never stay here after the lease is over. SO overpriced. Review from Google Feb 2018: The apartment is at best average in quality and location. Workout facilities keep breaking. Pool closed for weeks over the summer for maintenance. Garbage collection is a pain as drop off point never works and is one floor UP. The apartment is spotless without any food but I always kill insects in the apartment but might be as I am on ground floor. Required to pay for unassigned parking every month. Management company keeps changing their website/ method to pay online, making my rent late one month as it was not working properly. Awful view of parking lot from my apartment. Steel gate from outside can be heard in my apartment as there is no cushion. No ceiling fan/ light in family room. Tiny patio not good for any use. Office customer service and available hours are lacking. Need to pay for locker for package delivery. Definitely not renewing Review from Google Jan 2018: Living at Emory Point is super convenient in terms of location but the pricing really is outrageous. These are the priciest apartments in the area and they raise the rent after a year. If you have the money, I definitely recommend it. Unfortunately, it wasn't at my price point for post- graduation living. Review from Google Nov 2017: Do yourself a big favor...LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!! They only want your money. So sweet and polite and wonderful until you sign on the bottom line and then they are finished with you. They can't even pretend to be pleasant. He only contact they will have with you after signing is to charge you more money!!! GO ELSEWHERE!! Review from Google Aug 2017: I've had a pretty good experience at Emory Point. The facilities are very nice and the location and convenience is a plus. Review from Google Jul 2017: Bad
1. Overpriced - targeted towards Emory students & CDC (due to many vacancies, they tend to make profit out of current-residents by raising renewal prices 20-30%)
2. Irresponsible & Rude management - angels when you first come in; demons when you are a tenant; they will always put the blame on you including myriad of useless irresponsible emails
3. Looks nice from a distance; quality of materials are not so great - they will worn out quickly
Good
1. Beautiful place to live - my bike was stolen (it was locked correctly in the parking lot), but overall security is decent
2. Decent Gym, Pool, and Common Rooms
3. CVS, Earth Fare, restaurants
Verdict
don't live unless you are a Emory student or CDC employee willing to pay for inflated price Review from Google May 2017: Worst apartment i've ever stayed in, quality was poor and way overpriced. don't be sucked in just because of the location / nice looking exterior and shops downstairs. Way better options in the area.
To summarize my poor experiences:
1. Teaser Lease Rates:
I was lured into my lease at a teaser rate, which then went up hundreds of dollars a month when I extended my lease after the first year when I was already stuck.
2. don't get locked out of your apartment:
They don't have any office staff there after hours to help you back in - (e.g. even in the event of an emergency in my case where my wallet was also inside).
Review from 5/26/17 on Google May 2017: Possibly the worst apartment you could live. don't get me wrong- it's a very nice looking apartment, and the maintenance team is great. They really keep this place clean. However, the management here is terrible and they are out for your $$. Say you were super excited to receive your package from Amazon and accidentally forgot to flatten your box. So you leave a tiny amazon cardboard box in the trash room, the next morning you will wake up to a $250 fine just like that. (Make sure to remove all your shipping labels from the boxes).
The leasing agents will be super nice to you until you sign that lease contract and once you sign it, they won't even make the effort to polite to you. You show up at the leasing office thinking that you guys are friends already, um no, they are going to be like you can do this online, bye, the door is this way.
Pl Review from Google Feb 2017: Overall it's a convenient place to live if you work at the CDC and/or go to Emory, especially the public health school or the nursing school. The amenities are great and the property is, for the most part, well kept. Maintenance staff are excellent and repairs are made in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, the halls do echo and with more undergrads living in the apartment than the leasing office would like to admit, it can get noisy late at night over the weekends, starting on Thursdays. That said, I've never heard my neighbors on either side of me - the noise only comes from the hallways.
Review from 2/23/17 on Google Feb 2017: Emory Point staff members are courteous and helpful, and maintenance issues are fixed in a timely manner. Great exercise facilities, and close proximity for individuals who work at the CDC, Emory University, and the VA. Only complaint: undergrads can be noisy, and there are a lot of them given Emory Point's proximity to the university.
Review from 2/15/17 on Google May 2016: Maintenance crew is first rate! The buildings and grounds are immaculate always. The office staff are very helpful and friendly. The amenities are so nice and interior design is perfect. I would love for the movie screenings to be an event again this spring/summer.
Review from 5/20/16 on Apartment Ratings May 2016: My boyfriend and I love living at Emory Point. The apartment is incredible, especially the amazing kitchen. The amenities, especially the pool area and gym, are awesome. Also, its so convenient being near great restaurants. Definitely a great value and awesome location!
Review from 5/19/16 on Apartment Ratings Apr 2016: Great apartments, building, grounds, pool, gym. Expect to be screwed over by Gables and surrounded by inconsiderate, over- privileged Emory undergrads. The shops on the ground floor are nice to have as well.
Review from 4/14/16 on Apartment Ratings Dec 2015: - Rude, imperious staff that WILL raise your rent by 10%+ (mgt. must love having kids for residents here I now see) - Noisy, rude kids - Front office is full of low wage workers, not the ones you expect when you pay $2000 a month - Horrible boutiques, gross restaurants - Emory kids!
Review from 12/10/15 on Apartment Ratings Dec 2015: I love living here! I don't think there's another apartment community in the city like it. It feels like a very friendly and safe small town. With the exception of many of the younger residences (noise, disrespectful and very reckless in the parking garage) I no complaints at all.
Review from 12/3/15 on Apartment Ratings Nov 2015: I am most pleased with my new home at Emory Point. The quality and cleanliness of the apartment homes and facilities cannot be beat. The landscaping is highly maintained and beautiful. The courtesy, professionalism and helpfulness of all the staff is very impressive (a special note of appreciation to Jade Jones and Brittany Goode in the leasing department for being so kind, professional and responsive). I am able to walk to work, plus living in a mixed use development is so much fun and clearly helps to simplify life. And the entire complex is smoke-free! I highly recommend Emory Point for living and leisure!
Review from 11/5/15 on Apartment Ratings Aug 2015: 5 min walk from CDC. salking distance for food shopping and few others. We just need a movie theater and we have everything. Overall, I feel pretty safe in the apartment complex. Facility is clean with nice people. Review from Apartment Ratings on 08/09/15 Aug 2015: Professional , responsive staff! Location and amenities are excellent. Service requests addressed promptly and satisfactorily. The community is well maintained . Even the people that sweep the outdoor areas take pride in their tasks. Review from Apartment Ratings on 08/05/15
