Feb 2018: If I could rate negative I would… the only remotely decent things about living in these cottages are the location to campus & the look, one of the nicest places in Statesboro, that is if they clean your house… my roommates & I moved into a DISGUSTING house, needed to be pressure washed, the carpets needed to just be replaced, MY BEDROOM CARPET IS TORN UP AND THERE HAS BEEN no effort TO REPAIR. Our walls & CEILINGS are stained… Just lazy, RUDE kids working in the clubhouse. There’s always a truck that parks sideways taking up 2/3 spots & whenever I said something, they threatened to FINE ME???? One, the person doesn’t live in the hamptons & two, it’s right in front of MY house. childish, ridiculous nonsense. Asked for a copy of my contract which they can’t seem to come up with, but there’s multiple things that they promise that Review from Google Jan 2018: I walked in the clubhouse and introduced myself to one of the leasing staff. She asked what I wanted as they were unwrapping a bunch of packages...a total mess. I laughingly said "it looked like my office" which was met by stone cold stare. I asked her if they had any 2 unit apartments available. Never smiling she pointed to a seat and in a demanding voice said "sit over there and I'll be with you when I'm ready"! News flash. I'm the customer here. Better learn to respect your customers and not talk to them like children....especially BEFORE they sign a lease. I left without another word...plenty of other apartments in Statesboro that appreciate my business. Review from Google Aug 2017: I lived here to study at GSU and did not like it. Here's why. The people working at the clubhouse are terrible. I had struggle picking up package every time because they put it somewhere they couldn't find so they want searching for it for good 10 minutes. Also, they overcharge the electric bill. I checked with the local electricity provider and they charge about 32 cents more than the average for the same amount of energy consumption. I had water leaks in the bathroom and it took a month to fix it. They didn't even relocate me to another vacant room even though they told me they are working on relocating me. Terrible living quality. Management is terrible. Review from Google Aug 2017: I would not live here. I lived here from 2016 to 2017 and the management is nonexistent. They are never punctual and the electricity overage charges are not posted on the same day every month which is just ridiculous. Also, the area is not safe. Lived through some crime activities. Review from Google Aug 2017: I loved living here. The people who work here are kind and really helpful. They knew me and my roommates by sight. It is very difficult to find a place where the people who work there actually care. I've heard horror stories of other complexes in the area but I never ever had a problem with the Hamptons. It's a little more expensive, but it's well worth the price if you can afford it. Review from Google Jun 2017: Overall great place to live. It is not a gated community like advertised however. Well it is supposed to be but the staff is too lazy to fix the security system and deal with people coming on the property that have no business doing so, all while those people attempt to rob houses forcing people to call the police. If they do not fix this I will most likely not resign my lease.
Review from 6/2/17 on Google Apr 2017: Place is well designed..expensive for the area but you get what you pay for..only complaint is that I wish the washer dryer combo was two large separate machines and not one small double stacked one..rooms are nice and can easily feel like home with other room mates
Review from 4/9/17 on Google Jan 2017: UPDATE: After seeing this review and about the amenities not working, the owner himself sent me an e-mail apologizing, replaced the machines that were not working, AND said because of the inconvenience for the coffee machine not working gave me a $50 Starbucks giftcard! Such amazing customer service!! He definitely went above and beyond!
I love living in The Hamptons! I have lived in Aspen Heights, Copper Beech, and 111 South off-campus and The Hamptons is by far the nicest. The only reason I have it as 3 instead of 5 stars is because of the dog poop all in the grass, but that is more on the residents than the Hamptons (there are disposable bins and baggies, I guess people just don't choose to use them). The other reason is because a lot of the amenities don't work all the time - I'm in the 1 bedrooms and the clubhouse right by there hasn't Review from Google Apr 2016: I have been so impressed by the Hampton's and their staff! They are very accommodating and professional and do a great job interacting with their tenants. They have made the Hampton's feel like my home away from home!
The apartments are very well built and maintenance issues have been minimal. When I have had a problem, a qualified maintenance professional has come to address it promptly. The grounds are always beautiful as well!
Hands down, I would recommend to anyone!
Review from 4/17/16 on Google Mar 2016: Your staff in not consistent with information they give to residents and they also have very poor customer service which I find very ironic because I'm sure it was mentioned as an requirement in their job descriptions. It's also pathetic they use being "new in statesboro" as an excuse as well. Anyone who tours here or sees hamptions on the outside thinks of it as an amazing place to live. Residents know otherwise.
Review from 3/2/16 on Google Jan 2016: Best place to live in statesboro. I love living in the cottage. The management is awesome and they do a lot of activities here. I even won a monorover.
Review from 1/28/16 on Google Nov 2015: I love living here but when there is a maintenance problem, it takes about a month for them to fix it. Also their mail system is not good. I avoid using it at all costs.
Review from 11/20/15 on Google Nov 2015: I love living here at the Hamptons!
Review from 11/4/15 on Google Nov 2015: Best place to stay in Statesboro. Also, they are the best management I encountered in the boro. I recommend this place for all of my friends. - 5 stars
