Feb 2017: I've lived here since fall 2016. There were some issues at the beginning but the new management has fixed most of these. I've enjoyed living here. The one thing I would change is the parking lot traffic issues.
Review from 2/26/17 on Google Feb 2017: You literally can't beat the location of this place which is the single and only reason that I'm still living here at the moment. Workers have walked into our unit without any notice on multiple occasions for no reason and even after management was notified the issue still continued. Our tv is broken and has yet to be fixed. We have contacted management about it mulptiple times. Every time they tell us to contact whitesky, yet whitesky is not employed by us so we can't authorize them to come fix it. We were told when we signed our lease that we would have a dinning room table in our unit as requested but instead we have a pool table. Management has been "working" on finding someone to remove it since august when we moved in, yet they still have no updates for us.
Review from 2/24/17 on Google Feb 2017: This place has no security. People can come in from the parking garage gates that are always broken and open even late at night. The outsiders can open any door and come right into this building.
The hallways stink with trash, vomit, and pet feces. Maintenance does not do a good job at cleaning the pet feces and the hallways have a urine stench. The golf simulator is always broken, doors are broken in the hallway, the fire alarm is ALWAYS GOING OFF. The pool is always under maintenance and they have a curfew that stops you from using the gym and pool at 10pm. We are grown adults that pay to have this stuff and can't use it when it is convenient for us. The parking garage is to small and you can easily crash into another car. The floor plans are not accurate and they do not show you the small rooms that they have in the demo room.
Review from 2/14/17 on Goog Feb 2017: don't let the very few good reviews about this place convince you to live here. Half of them are from people that work there or the university house itself lol. There is a reason why they are struggling to get people to renew their leases. EVERYTHING is broken and when I say everything I absolutely mean it. Golf simulator has been broken since I moved in, the printers never work, there's never coffee in the Starbucks coffee machine, there's never more than one jacuzzi working at one time, the garage is always open, the doors are constantly left open by the construction workers that work here and anyone and everyone can get in as they please. It's a never ending construction zone. Fire alarms go off randomly all the time, you never know when to evacuate.
Review from 2/14/17 on Google Feb 2017: I have lived at University House since it was built. It has been a great experience living here. One of the things I enjoy most about it is that it is conveniently located. I have a shorter walk to my classes living here than when I did I lived on campus in my dorm freshman year. My absolute favorite part of my unit is that it is on the top floor directly facing Tiger Stadium! It's literally the best view in Baton Rouge of Death Valley. My favorite amenities would have to be the Golf Simulator as well as the rooftop pool area!
Review from 2/13/17 on Google Jan 2017: An Honest Review
don't let the bad reviews scare you. New management is MUCH improved from the original owners. This place gets a bad wrap because of old management, it was cheaply built by the less than stellar Baton Rouge work force, and the residents suck. That's honestly the biggest problem with this place, the residents. They continually treat this place like trash then complain that it sucks. It's a never ending circle of stupidity. That's not all the residents obviously though. Just a select few who manage to taint everybody's experience here.
Granted there are things that could be better but new management, since mid fall semester, has been fixing the place. They actually care so that's cool. Review fro 1/27/17 on Google Dec 2016: Mold growing everywhere and they will not fix maintenance issues after calling at least 10 times over several weeks including two water leaks that I have reported multiple times. Bad area, many people have gotten things stolen. There are surrounding neighborhood kids with ankle monitors on get to enjoy the pool with you. Have seen at least five mice. Gates never locked with some more surrounding neighborhood friends sitting in the parking lot at 2 in the morning. Not a safe place for defenseless kids. Fire alarms going off all the time in the middle of the night.
Review from 12/29/16 on Google Dec 2016: zero stars. I moved out four months ago and still have yet to receive my security deposit and when I called they do not call me back. Back in July I had a ceiling leak that they supposedly fixed but didn't and all my stuff got ruined. I filed a formal damage complaint and have not heard a word. Only lived there for two months but it was horrible.they close the pool once a week due to people breaking stuff in it and didn't apologize or fix it in a timely manner. Hallways were dirty and always under construction and rent was ridiculous. Do not live here.
