Sep 2019: The great thing about apartment is the management especially the maintenance guys, they super awesome, friendly and get their job done in a professional way. Other than this, I heard a nightmare experience living in this complex. Flies kept coming from the sink, windows and every other places I can't even notice, The dining got flooded every time it rained and maggot will be all over the dining area. It is a place to forget. I gave them two stars just because of the maintenance guys, otherwise the apartment deserves just no star Review from Google Aug 2019: Me and my wife moved here because of what seemed to be cheap rent for a decent place. We knew it wouldn’t be fancy and that the units were old but were ok with that because of the fair priced rent.
Well is upon move in the place was already filthy, namely the stove and bathroom were not very clean. But I spent a few days and cleaned them myself and finally got them to a point I liked.
About a week after move in though we noticed there was mold in our closet. This never got fixed despite the amount of times we told them about it, they’d come and look and leave and never come back.
There was also a leak in our closet so every time it rained you couldn’t use the back half of the closet for a while, that was cool. Also had told them several times and never got a fix.
All of this was annoying but I just kept telling myself just move next year and forget about this place. Well we did move but the move out fees were insane, and also not what we had been told they’d be in the move in packet Review from Google Aug 2019: Beware of hidden fees when you are moving out. don't expect to get your deposit back at all. There is a $75 dollar "administration fee" that is charged from your deposit after move-out. Remember, the initial administration fee that you pay when applying is for the landlord to run the background check on you, so this second fee is absolutely scummy. You get for what you pay for at this property, but you should sign with an apartment complex that is not owned by DTI Properties. Review from Google Aug 2019: The most egregious thing about this place is they didn't replace smoke detector batteries for at least 7 months after I submitted the maintenance request. I submitted in January and the batteries weren't replaced before I moved out (the last day of July). The apartments are also very poorly insulated, since May temperatures would reach 80 degrees inside of the blinds were open (AC was set to 72) and even with the blinds closed throughout the summer temps inside would still reach mid to high 70s (ac still set to 72). And in the winter the heater would have trouble maintaining temps above 68 degrees at night. Review from Google Jun 2019: Worst place to live in. They had to move us to 3 different units due to flooded on 1st floor unit. For whoever live at 902 and 1106, it was flooded and I bet theres mold in the wall. They moved us to 2nd floor, 301. The floor is warped so bad.
Just splurge a hundred more to live in better place. We turned in the notice of moving out 6 months before our lease expired. Its that bad! Review from Google Jun 2019: Worst place to live in. Review from Google Feb 2019: Gables is in a great location convenient to both casual and fine dining, shopping, and entertainment. There is a bus directly in front of the property for easy access to campus. If you want a quiet place close to everything you should visit the Gables. My apartment is one of the newly redone ones and it is such great quality. Most places i looked at before did not really upgrade their apartments like advertised. Just know that they aren’t super new and you won’t have a washer or dryer in your apartment. But there is a laundromat. This place also has super friendly management and they are great to work with. Makes me disappointed about CJ the unprofessional manager because I am pregnant with a baby girl that I'm going to have her next week it takes them a week to say I got denied I am very disappointed and sad because I tried so hard too do everything they ask. I had the emergency, on-call maintenance man come to my apartment high once (after 20 minutes of calling him with no answer and having to resort to the police calling him for me); I reported it to the main office and absolutely nothing was done about it. I reported a stalker that lived above me and again they did nothing. Complex was popular with the cops as several drug dealers lived there. Also, the office staff completely changed and I was not notified, leaving residences, like me, who had worked out or were in the middle of working out issues with the previous office staff up a creek.
Review from 9/20/16 on Apartment Ratings Jun 2016: Happy residents typically do not leave reviews unless something happened that went above and beyond their expectations. Angry residents that are not getting their way are the ones to bad mouth and lie about a company thinking they will stop people from using them. I worked at that property for 3 years and although there were some issue that were beyond my control, the property was ran appropriately. There was a period when maintenance was understaffed so work orders got backed up, but that was fixed. Sadly, we live in Texas and pest control issues are not just limited to one property, that happen everywhere. I can tell you that The Gables is on a very strict pest control policy where ABC pest control visits the property every 2 weeks to spray apartments that are having issues and pre-treat apartments before move ins. Review from 5/18/16 on Google Mar 2015: I wanted to take a minute and thank ____, the Manager, for taking care of the issues in my daughther's apartment who currently resides here. There was a maintenance issue since my daughter moved in but once I spoke with ___, she immediately took action. My daughter got her dishwasher fixed and a maintenance tech came out today to fix all the other issues.
With all the negative reviews, I wanted people to know that the office handled my request and we hope all my daughter's future work orders will be handled in the same professional manner. Thank you ____.
