Apr 2018: Front office staff are always really friendly. Good apartments and great prices. The traffic gets pretty bad on Holleman though. Review from Google Feb 2018: Overall, I am pleased with my four year stay at Gateway. I’ve had a few issues with my washer and AC before, but maintenance has responded to my work orders in a timely manner (either the same day or the day after). Recently, maintenance went above and beyond to help me with a problem I had in my restroom. Keivan did the job and ensured I was satisfied with the work before leaving. The leasing staff at the office is very welcoming and friendly. I usually go into the office to get papers printed for class and they do it without hesitation. When I see staff members around the property, they always greet me with a smile. I love the free events Gateway offers throughout the month and the fact that we have a bus stop just outside the complex. I would say the only major problem my roommates and I have encountered while at Gateway has to do with th Review from Google Feb 2018: MAINTENANCE is ALWAYS so cooperative ! My apartment had so many problems and they never hesitated to come by and usually came on the same day I sent the work order in. They have really made my stay here at Gateway very pleasant. I loved Ms.Savannah she is very professional. Review from Google Jan 2018: Gateway has been for the most part great. Love the pool area, we use the grill area a lot, only thing is that they don’t provide propane. I don’t know how people seem to have problems with maintenance , I put in a work order for My dryer, washer, stove, etc. and they were almost all answered by that day or by the next for sure. Review from Google Jan 2018: I've lived here for a few months now and I honestly can't complain. Yes, they are a bit older than some of the apartments in the area and this does sometimes show through, but for the affordability, location and great staff, these apartments are great-- especially for students.
The staff is always nice and helpful and they make an effort to build a community through different events each month. The maintenance team is GREAT. They have always responded within hours to a day of a request being submitted and have never left without fixing the issue. I don't have any complaints about living here. Review from Google Jan 2018: The ONLY good thing about these apartments and “new management†are the specials they give. Look nice on the internet etc, don’t get me wrong they are nice decent apartments but they have a BAD ANT problem. Says all bills paid but in reality you’re paying for everything !!! They give you one electric bill that’s low then every bill after that is nearly 100 dollars although you try everything in your power to save. Management do not care about the residents they just want your money. Beyond ready for my lease to be over with . Review from Google Nov 2017: When we moved they were completely unprepared. We had to submit several work requests to fix basic appliances and furniture. On top of that, we had to steam clean all the furniture and carpets because they smelt like animal. Today, it's been almost 24 hours and our water is still off. When I asked for when our water might be turned back on, the front desk gave me a vague "some time today". I was told a pipe busted but I've never had an apartment take this long to fix a broken pipe. On top of that our AC system is garbage. We get charged ridiculous amounts for continuously running the AC even though the temperature never goes under 78-80 degrees. Review from Google Sep 2017: I really don't understand the bad reviews. I lived here for two years and never had any issues. Maintenance worked fast, they always had fun events, and there was plenty of parking. I liked that I could pay rent online. The people in the office were always helpful and nice. I had a great experience living here. Plus, the rent was super affordable. Review from Google Jul 2017: don't LIVE HERE. Many of my friends have already left, and I asked why and they said that and it was because the rent was going up. But I've been here for 2 years. I've had issues before. I had to switch apartments to get new roommates- meaning I couldn't release and so I had to sign a new contract instead of releasing and being put in another room. The year that I finally don't have that issue, my rate is going up and I'm living in a 4bed/2bath and am paying over $100 more than new residents, and more than a 2bed/2 bath would pay. They have also have done many renovations, so I don't understand why the price is dropping-maybe my money is helping that. I tried talking to management and they stated they couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it. I asked if I could extend my lease and pay less and they refused. They said that it was the best offer Review from Google Jun 2017: I have lived at Gateway for almost 2 years. The first year wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Things started getting bad after they changed management. They changed management right before my second lease started. I requested to transfer Apartments and was told I could move in to my new apartment by a certain date. That date rolls around and they told me my apartment wasn't ready yet. I asked for an update over 3 times and was still told my apartment wasn't ready. I waited an additional 2 weeks before I could transfer Apartments and when I finally moved in, the whole apartment was a mess.
Review from 6/13/17 on Google May 2017: My experience with Gateway Apartments has been deplorable. Some of the other reviews left on here have been stellar stating that the environment is pleasant and the staff have been welcoming. In the case of I and my roommates nothing can be farther from the truth as our 1 year lease has been akin to hell on earth.
Let us start on day one of moving in, our apartment was a mess with much of the "provided" furniture was missing, and many of the power outlets were not working. We politely brought this to the attention of the office to which the unhelpful office assistant told us "its just move in day, give us a little bit of time."
Review from 5/21/17 on Google May 2017: On the day my roommate and I moved in we discovered that not only were we going to be living directly next to the train tracks, but also by one of the busiest intersections in College Station. Before we even move in, we ask to be moved to a different apartment building because we had put down preferences far away from the busyness of the intersection. The management refused to move us and said that this was set in stone. I suffer from chronic migraines and the train comes by multiple times a day and we are about 75 feet from whenever the train blows its horn.
Review from 5/19/17 on Google May 2017: Signing a lease with gateway has been the worst decision of my life. Management and their employees have horrible customer service. don't worry about getting your guarantor papers signed because they forced my lease to be complete without it. I have never seen an apartment complex be ran so poorly. All they want is your money whether you like it or not. I signed a renewal lease in October of 2016, but did not turn in my guarantor papers. I told them that I would be moving out of town after my current lease was ended due to financial and personal reasons, and that I didn't want my renewal lease.
Review from 5/8/17 on Google Mar 2017: Staff are nice. I like the environment. The location is great for me-- away from major daily traffic, and the train doesn't northern me at all.
The only problem I have so far is that the maintenance service is slow and takes multiple times to get things done.
If you are a lay back person, this would be a good place for you.
Review from 3/22/17 on Google Mar 2017: Live in the big two bedroom style where you share rooms, it's me and three other guys. I've been very pleased with my experience! Great value, quick maintenance service, free open parking, and the front office is very helpful! would recommend for sure if you're trying to get a good deal.
Review from 3/15/17 on Google Dec 2016: The tour guide was helpful in showing the floor plan. Staff was friendly.
Review from 12/22/16 on Google Dec 2016: Friendly, helpful service. Really nice apartments with plenty of space and nice appliances. And it's close to campus! Great place to live.
Review from 12/18/16 on Google May 2016: Overall I had a decent living experience here. My only complaint would be that the roommate matching wasn't done as well as I would have preferred it to be. I had 4 roommates and only got along with 1 of them so if that could be better executed, then that would be great for the complex and future residents. Also, not a complaint but something for future residents to be aware of is that traffic getting in and out is not so fun since the stop light and train tracks are right next to the apartment and there is only one way in and out. Other than that, the location was great as far as getting to school and the football stadium.
Review from 5/29/16 on Google May 2016: Since I've been here, I have had ants invade my bathroom twice, my bedroom once, and have had the air conditioning broke during hot months. The only reason this is two stars instead of one is because they fill maintenance requests quick enough.
Review from 5/22/16 on Google Nov 2015: Simple, effective, and affordable: that was all that I wished for during my apartment search. Other apartments had their own perks, but Gateway was the place for me. With places like The Warehouse and Layne's within walking distance and a small, yet relaxing park right next to the apartment complex, I feel more at home in College Station since I first came to Aggieland. Gateway was, metaphorically, a 'welcome-back' sort of place. Sure, there are a few aspects where it needs improvement, but I have no regrets living here nonetheless.
Review from 11/17/15 on Google Nov 2015: Gateway Apartments is a quality student living complex. It has several amenities including a pool, sand volley ball court, recreation room, and fully equipped weight room and gym. The staff is kind, helpful, and very timely in responding to calls, emails, and work orders. There is abundant parking and it is also free. The apartments come fully furnished with living room furniture, a bed, a desk, a dresser, a night stand, kitchen table and chairs, as well as all of the appliances including a refrigerator and freezer with an ice maker, both washer and dryer, garbage disposal, sink, stove, and dishwasher. It has Hard wood floors also. It is a quality place to live that is more than close enough to campus, has a bus stop directly in front of the property and a park right next to it. You can even see Kyle Field from the window.(11/16/2015 current resident Craigslist) Nov 2015: The fitness room and computer room really come in handy. Plus maintenance is awesome. But the apartment wifi could be better, and the apartments are honestly not like what I saw during the tour. majority of the apartment looks different. I wish I was not sold an apartment that's the complete opposite of what was initially presented.
Review from 11/3/15 on Google Oct 2015: Wonderful! love the place, clean, spacious, and wonderful roommates.
