Hi, Loading...

Oct 2019: EDIT REGARDING OWNER RESPONSE: If you have "systems in place" to make sure that rooms are move in ready then why weren't they? I've tried reaching out to staff in the past and they responded to me slowly and then not at all. Got fined for something I marked down upon move in. Moved into a new place and most of the appliances are broken, so I’m not sure what we’re even paying these fines for. You might notice an uptick of good reviews around Spring of 2018. That’s because they sent out an email saying if you left a review you and showed them you would get a Canes gift card. Not sure about the legality of that. Review from Google
Jun 2019: I lived in Vista back in 2013-2015 when i was attending ASU. It was way too expensive for what it was worth (cheap appliances, obviously-used furniture), but i wanted to be close to my classes and campus. Never caused any issues or was told that i caused any issues while living there. I move out and get charged $80 for "damages to the sofa". I dispute these charges and they were supposedly removed. Fast forward to now, when i'm applying to rent a house and am told the charges are still on my name (and are with a debt collector), and i may not get approved to live in this new place. Thank you Vista for not only charging me an arm and a leg to live there, but for possibly ruining my chances at future housing. Save yourself and find any other apartment to live in. Review from Google
Jun 2019: Save yourself from BED BUGS, management that doesn't give a darn, painfully slow or nonexistent maintenance, GROSS FACILITIES, and seriously overpriced rent. At the end of the school year, one of my suite-mates got bedbugs. It took weeks to convince them to take our bug complaints seriously (and for something as serious as bed bugs, that is pathetic). They eventually treated the place, but they chose the least effective treatment method and we couldn't get clear communication from them to save our lives. The bed bug thing didn't seem to be just our apartment either, but potentially a larger. Getting something as simple as our dryer fixed took three quarters of the school year. Upon moving into my apartment here I scrubbed it from floor to ceiling and still felt like I didn't make a dent in the grime. Do yourself a favor, save yourself the mental energy, money, and stress. Live somewhere else and don't give your money to these people who don't give two cents about the students who live here Review from Google
May 2019: Unless you have a scholarship that completely covers the cost, DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! The WiFi here is not good, will randomly shut off for hours at a time. They will charge you for literally any small mistake in your apartment. My room and common area had some dust ON THE CEILING FANS and they’re charging all four of us to “clean them.” How is it possibly fair to charge $20 a person to wipe off a fan? The apartment was also very filthy when I moved in. You don’t see me charging them because I had to dust the whole place right when I moved in, so why should they be able to charge me for a single item still having dust? Definitely moving somewhere else next year. Review from Google
Apr 2019: Vista Del Sol is a great place to live while in college if you consider the other "dorm" options and perks of being as close to campus for a somewhat off campus experience. It definitely is pricey compared to what other places go for, Vista ranges from about 6500$ to about 9500$ over the academic year. Although if you plan to stay here several semesters, the summer fee is waved and you can live for free in the units over the summer. Overall you have all the amenities you need for a living space. Full kitchen, sometimes a balcony, private or shared room with a twin or full sized bed, your OWN BATHROOM (only private rooms), a 24 hour gym, and an awesome pool, hot tube, basketball court and volleyball court. There is also some open grassy areas for pets to roam around and play in. If you are a Barrett student, I HIGHLY suggest you live here during at least one, hopefully two of the years you are "required" to live on campus Review from Google
Apr 2019: Great place for students that do not want to live in student housing but want to be close to campus A+ Review from Google
Mar 2019: Don’t live here. Literally live anywhere else. Live in the dorms again if you have to. Our elevator was broken for four months and it was only fixed because the second one broke and they were required by law to finally fix them. But they are still faulty and work on and off, I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody eventually gets stuck in one. Moved in and had multiple faulty appliances that barely run, but nobody ever came to fix them. The apartment was dirty and there was trash under some of the beds. And recently there have been multiple fire alarms at 2 am then 3 am. The first one most likely being accidentally set off then the second one an hour later most likely being a sign of faulty wiring. They also have random prechecks and maitenance checks. Don’t get me wrong maintenance are very nice, but it’s hard to feel that way after they barge into your room at 9am as you’re getting out of your shower Review from Google
Feb 2019: Do you enjoy paying an arm and a leg for parking? What about 'randomly' getting your car towed constantly despite paying for that parking pass, only having to pay even more to get your car back despite legally having done nothing wrong? If you're a fan of these predatory policies and more (we're just scratching the surface here!) Then I encourage everyone to move to Vista del Sol and other ASU related student dormatories! Jan 2019: The maintenance staff is nice and hard working. Pool/hot tub is beautiful. enough good. ¡Barrett Students!: they will not force you to live here during your second year. If you ask admin they will tell you to get a housing exemption. In reality, many people in Barrett live off campus regardless. You will get more bang for your buck. Do no live in the shared rooms here. The room is simply too small for 2 people. If you are going to live here, get a solo room. Review from Google
Oct 2018: Only benefit from living here is being close to campus. Other than that, it’s atrocious. First off, there were numerous issues when I first moved in, from having a non-working stove to an actual closet door missing. You also take a gamble on getting an apartment that has no balcony or has a barely functional A/C because the unit is on other side of the apartment and the air can barely travel to the vent into your room (this is what maintenance actually told me) which is perfect for the hot AZ weather. Second, if you end up in the shared bedroom, back out immediately. Not only is the room space cramped and tiny, if you end up having no roommate, they perform unannounced maintenance checks while you’re out of town for break and they write you up for violations if they see things on the other side of the room or if the furniture is rearranged Review from Google
Sep 2018: Dear Barrett a sophomores, You do not have to live here. They won't kick you out of Barrett for not living here, even if you don't have a housing exemption. You will find better places for less money off Campus. Review from Google
Sep 2018: The place is great but I am very very angry with the charges they make. I moved in a week ago. Then, I found that my room is exactly opposite to the main road, which can be quite noisy at night. So I decided not to live in the room and ask for a change to another room because I have sleeping problems. Therefore, I have NEVER lived in the room. There are dust in the room, but definitely no dirt or other dirty stuff. So when I check out the room today, they said because the room is full of dust, so they are charging me the cleaning fee. I said but I had never lived in the room. They said because they room is full of dust, I have to pay for the cleaning. YES, I used the whole week to make your whole room being covered with the FLAT thin dust, right?! Yes, I am so talented to make it in a week! They said I signed the condition form saying the room Review from Google
Aug 2018: Its nice as a sophomore to get out of the dorms and into a spacious apartment. The only real convenient thing about Vista is its proximity to ASU, the gym, and student events where you can get free food. The apartments themselves are cheaply built, and furnished with cheap appliances, floors, and furniture. Expect the entire complex to be a mess from all of the college students and if you live in the K tower, expect the hall way to smell like death. Students pay enough for a very nice (maybe even luxury) apartment, but are forced to stay in this complex. Do not stay for your junior year, get an apartment off campus and leave Vista behind. Review from Google
Apr 2018: The location is really convenient, its nice and close to campus. However, its really expensive compared to off-campus housing that's not that much further away from campus and there are still CA's and everything. It really doesn't feel much different from the dorms. Also the management sucks. Review from Google
Jan 2018: Pros: The location is FANTASTIC, and there are tons of really fun events always happening nearby. Cons: The rooms are a bit pricey, and the premesis requires a ton of maintenance upkeep. (Disclaimer: I was given a Canes gift card to leave this review, but between you and me, I wouldn't let something like that sway my review. I value my integrity more than a basket of chicken.) Jan 2018: Overall, Vista is a pretty great place to live. Moving from the Barrett dorms, Vista was a nice upgrade. It comes fully furnished, has a full kitchen, and lots of space. I would say my only complaints would be the outdated kitchen appliances, the tremendously slow maintenance, and the high price. Otherwise, awesome place. Nice pool/gym/volleyball court all on site. Definitely check out/tour Vista. Review from Google
Jan 2018: First, the Vista staff are friendly and always ready to help. Second, Vista Villas are great apartment style dorms. I have stayed here for 2 years now and enjoy the location as well as the style of the apartment. You get your own private room and bath. That apartments comes fully furnished with designer interiors. I love the laundry and dishwasher in the apartment. I enjoy the resort style amenities like the fitness center, sand volleyball court, and pool. Overall, it is a graeat place to stay for your on campus experience. The only downfall is the walls are extremely thin. You can hear what’s going on in the room next to you, above you, in the living room, and outside in the hall. It can be annoying when you are trying to do homework but you can always just go to the library. Review from Google
Jan 2018: Nice apartments, each bedroom slightly larger than a dorm and with private bathroom. Common room and kitchen are well-furnished and have relatively new appliances. Maintenance services are usually quick to fix any issues you might have. The gym has everything you need; it's very helpful to have it so close. Pool area is very nice, high quality. Only complaint: floors in apartment (bedroom and common area) are fairly dirty on arrival, they were vacuumed, but they are clearly stain-laden and gross in places. Review from Google
Jan 2018: It is so nice to live so close to ASU! I can come home in between classes instead of staying on campus all day. Also, the maintenance staff here is so friendly and can always fix the issues in my apartment! Vista throws fun events and it is nice to live in a community with other college students. Downside: The walls are thin so you can hear when people are moving around and talking. Review from Google
Jan 2018: I loved my room here at Vista. That being said, the price you have to pay, especially for an individual room + bath, puts many people off at first. Because it's on-campus housing and fully furnished, you do have to pay a lot. For me, it's the price I paid for the convenience of living close to my classes and not having to pay out-of-pocket for utilities. Maintenance is very helpful and fulfilled all my requests the day after I submitted them. My bathroom sink did back-up/drain out and leave a streak of rust, but it came off when I cleaned it. The pool/hot tub area and on-site gym were very well kept, as is the grounds. However, certain things in my dorm were starting to fall apart (edges of tables) and the floors were scratched and permanently dirty. But the space you get is very roomy, even for four people, and the full kitchen was definitely Review from Google
Jan 2018: The University Housing staff is absolutely remarkable. Every time I have contacted their office I have been greeted with nothing but kind, knowledgeable staff. I can especially thank Zack for getting things done. Thank you again to University Housing for providing me with an unforgettable living experience. Review from Google
May 2017: don't expect to get anything repaired. I mean it, moved in and wrote a book on my Move-In damages form and have reached out to multiple maintenance and office staff about all of the issues when I moved in and here we are 3 months later and still nothing fixed. This place sucks, pay the extra $100 and live anywhere else in Tempe and get an actually apartment complex that cares. Oh and not to mention the Wifi is complete trash. Review from 5/30/17 on Google
May 2017: I live the in vista Del sol for one year and I lived villas at vista for one year. In villas at vista the CA and manager are irresponsible . In my apartment upper floor , they always have party. I told Ca and manger several times . They did nothing. And most serious is once I called the police . I also lost my bag in my apartment. I also told manager and Ca , but they do not help me at all. when you checked out, they will charge as many as they can. Even is very clean , they still will find something to charge and force you to signature. Review from 5/24/17 on Google
May 2017: I lived here about two years ago before they apparently took away the overnight parking passes but it was still the worst place I have ever lived. Probably one of the worst things that happened was the maintenance people would just enter the apartment with no warning whenever they felt like it. My roommate was in the shower once with her bathroom door open and maintenance walked right into her room without knocking!!! Complete invasion of privacy!!!! Our fridge was broken when we moved in and we finally got them to replace it and it smelled like trash and had mold inside of it! Also on move-in day our couches were shredded and the rooms were completely dirty with random stains on the furniture and feathers and stuff all over the carpets. Review from 5/7/17 on Google
Apr 2017: FUTURE TENANTS BEWARE: Save your money and go down the street for a much better home, as these apartments are disgustingly overpriced and not well maintained whatsoever. Also, they had a running scam with towing and parking pass going. When I first visited a friend there, I parked my car and my friend told me to come with him to get a guest parking pass. Not 3-4 minutes later, my car was towed illegally by a corrupt towing company that Vista Del Sol works with. Review from 4/6/17 on Google
