Jan 2018: Great place and price. Has many amenities and has everything you could possibly need in an apartment. I enjoyed it so much that I renewed my lease. Review from Google Jan 2018: I have enjoyed my stay at Chapel Ridge, and have already renewed my lease. It is difficult to find a place in Chapel Hill that is affordable, furnished, and close to campus, and Chapel Ridge provided all of these qualities. I also enjoy the community events, which have allowed me to connect with neighboring students. Overall, Chapel Ridge has been a great fit in terms of pricing, amenities, and distance. Review from Google Jan 2018: This apartment complex is a great option for students who want to live off campus. Not only is the price all inclusive, but the location is close to both Chapel Hill and Durham. The staff plan regular events for residents, which makes you not miss campus life. Review from Google Jan 2018: Chapel ridge is an awesome place in which one check pays all which is super convenient. Bus lines are reliable. Also, you have your own room and bathroom. would recommend 10/10! Review from Google Jan 2018: Chapel Ridge is the place to be! With all-inclusive rent, it's every student's ideal living situation. can't wait to renew my lease! Review from Google Jan 2018: I have really enjoyed living here. The front desk is helpful and they put on a lot of events for residents. The bus line to campus is great also! Review from Google Jan 2018: Very nice place to live. I appreciate the proximity to campus and the maintenance staff is very friendly. All inclusive rent is the best too! Review from Google Oct 2017: Chapel Ridge is a really great, and convenient, place to live. With everything included in the monthly payment (i.e. parking and utilities), you only have to worry about the one monthly payment. Being furnished is very helpful as well, seeing as college students do not know where we will be living after graduation. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Maintenance requests are filled quickly. The only drawback is the distance away from campus, but even then there are plenty of buses that run to make it easy to get to campus (which allows for a little extra time to read on the way to and from campus). One of my favorite aspects of the apartment is LAUNDRY IN UNIT! would recommend! Review from Google Oct 2017: I've loved living at Chapel Ridge these past two years. The staff is always friendly and polite whenever I have questions. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the pool and gym are. Maintenance workers are always prompt and professional. Staff goes above and beyond with providing free food and snacks that make my day extra special :) Review from Google Oct 2017: I love living in Chapel Ridge. Having your own full sized room and bathroom, furniture, and all utilities and amenities for such a low price is unbeatable. Their roommate matching system is amazing too. Chapel Ridge is also a great place to live if you want to be close to campus, yet feel like you live in a quiet neighborhood. The only down side, the buses to and from campus fill quickly. I honestly wouldn't mind paying more if our neighborhood had a shuttle system. Still, Ridge is wonderful place to call home. Review from Google Oct 2016: DO NOT LIVE HERE. This apartment seems like a great deal on the outside, but it is not. When moving in, I noticed that the apartment was not cleaned. There were dead bugs everywhere, spiders, and PUBES--yes, a giant pile of pubes under my bed. On top of that, it smelled terribly of weed, there were four broken tiles in the kitchen, and the kitchen light did not work. I went to the office to discuss these issues and was assured that they were on the top of the priority list. 2 months later and 5 more maintenance requests later, and none of these issues are solved. They have not been in to fix anything in the apartment despite it being "first priority."
Review from 10/10/16 on Apartment Ratings Sep 2016: Every time that I think that the office/maintenance staff can't get any worse, they prove me wrong. The air conditioning in my apartment has been substandard for much of the summer. But instead of fixing the problem (if that's even possible) or admitting that the central air conditioning for my apartment is useless and at least offering to install one of their emergency window air conditioners, someone apparently decided that the best way to deal with such complaints is to disable the central air completely. What professionalism. The air conditioning has been out for four (4) days now - over the entire Labor Day weekend and the following Tuesday.
Review from 9/6/16 on Apartment Ratings Jul 2016: I moved here after living in late-19th century dorms for 4 years in a city with roaches. That being said, the pluses of having ones own bathroom, washer and dryer, gym, pool, tennis courts, all within reach was unbelievable and I enjoyed it. There's even this magical back route to the Carolina North Forest towards the running trails. Yet, I'm 80% sure there was a mold issue in our apt. I had so much homework my first 8 months that I tried to ignore the symptoms: unable to breathe well, fatigue, etc. Every fruit or vegetable we'd accidentally leave on the counter would amass fuzz in a day, even during the winter.
Review from 7/21/16 on Apartment Ratings May 2016: The new management is doing a great job of addressing concerns and issues that residents may have. The buildings are kept nice and clean, the landscaping looks lovely, and I really appreciate the text and email notifications when things are happening around the community.
Review from 5/18/16 on Google Apr 2016: Living conditions definitely improved with the new management, but there were still many miscommunications that became annoying to continuously deal with, our apartment wasn't in the best shape and clearly hadn't been cleaned well before we moved in, and there were a few recurring safety issues (the weather stripping around our door was gone, the parking lot wasn't salted during an ice storm and we couldn't leave, and there are no street lights on the road out to the bus stop which makes coming home late at night--not sure how much control they have over this one, but it seems like someone could have been contacted). We also had a lease issue and it took them several MONTHS to resolve it.
The location is great, the apartments are spacious, the price is reasonable, but there are some definite tradeoffs. Review from 04/10/16 on Apartment Ratings Apr 2016: I have enjoyed living at Chapel Ridge ever since the new team came in. They have implemented fun activities for the residents and have reduced the amount of wait time between maintenance request or any small issue I may have had. I wanted to give a big shout out to Katie and Autumn for always making me feel like a valued resident.
Review from 4/1/16 on Google Feb 2016: I'm seriously traumitized after living here haha no but really. I have lived here for two years but this is definelty my last year. The first year I moved into an apartment that was filthy. The rug was so old with huge stains all over it and it had a stench that stayed regardless of how many freebreeze and carpet cleaners I bought. The following year I moved into an apartment which was a huge mess to begin with because the apartment was not even ready when I had gotten there and there was still another roomate living there even though they insisted I change my flight tickets to be there on that day. Fast forward a few months and our garbage disposal breaks which takes them over a month to fix, which in my opinion is hazardous to the health.
Review from 2/18/16 on Google Oct 2015: Overall, living at Chapel Hill is pretty good. I like the individual bedrooms and bathrooms, and the common area is a good size. The bathrooms and kitchen could use a little updating. I like that you can have pets; however, I've found that most people do not clean up after their pets so the grass is basically a mine field. Maintenance is much better than it had been at responding to requests.
Review from 10/27/2015 on Apartment Ratings Oct 2015: Awesome apartment complex. Great buildings, with tennis court and basketball court and pool. Also has a gym, which is a big plus. And you can have a pet now.
Review from 10/23/15 on Apartment Ratings Oct 2015: Great place to live and has a nice community full of fellow classmates. You'll have plenty of options to choose from so being bored shouldn't be a problem unless that's what you like. The only thing I'd like would be a shuttle during the day or after the buses stop running.
Review from 10/13/15 on Apartment Ratings Apr 2015: I lived here my senior year at UNC and I loved it, until I moved out. They charged all my roommates a move-out fee for leaving trash in our apartment, which we did not do, and for broken blinds, which I wrote in my move-in list of things that were broken. Lucky I saved my copy of my move-in list items so that they don't charge me for damages I didn't do. So save yours too! My car also got dinged at a few times because some people can't drive. But other than that, amenities here are clearly one of the best in Chapel Hill. They had parties for the community which is super nice, like good parties with good food. Apr 2014: Was very excited to move in. Even more excited to move out! Couldn't be more disappointed in my stay here at Chapel Ridge. The price I'm paying for rent is ridiculous considering the circumstances. And yes, as soon as you sign, they will lower the rent with even better incentive to sign, so if you must live here, wait as long as possible to sign. Trust me, there will still be room. One of the reasons I chose this place was based on the fact that it's NOT pet friendly (as stated in the lease). These are lies: dogs the size of horses roam the grounds, unleashed, crapping all over the sidewalks and grass to be left by their irresponsible owners, chasing after me to my car across the parking lot so that nonresidents without permits (which is a cost covered in my rent) can park in front of my apartment building.
Review from 4/21/14 on Apartment Ratings Jan 2014: I've been living here since the summer, and have no complaints. They do a good job, far better than any other complex I've lived in. It's a fun place for students to live, especially in the summer (with the pool and all). Only downside is that it's sort of far from campus, but not an issue if you have a car. definitely recommend this place. Sad to be leaving at the end of this year.
